DECREE No. 498 THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
I.- by Legislative Decree No. 296, dated July 24, 1992, published in the Official Gazette No. 143, Volume No. 316, 31 of the same year, the Tax Law Transfer of Movable Property and Provision of Services was issued.
II.- That Article 45, paragraph i) provides, inter alia, that that tax be exempt from import and final internments of buses, microbuses and rental vehicles dedicated to public passenger transport.
III.- That is appropriate to extend the scope of that exemption, with the purpose of benefiting the owners of buses, minibuses and rental vehicles, in order to encourage users of public passenger transport.
IV.- That for the reasons stated above, it is necessary to amend Article 45, paragraph i) of the Tax Law Transfer of Movable Property and Provision of Services aforementioned.

Art. 1. reformed the literal i) of Article 45 and:
"i) Buses, microbuses and rental vehicles dedicated to public passenger transport. Enjoy the same benefit domain transfers made importers of such cars, in favor of subjects engaged in public passenger transport. Buses, microbuses and rental vehicles referred to in this subparagraph shall meet the necessary features that, for purposes of distinction, point to the Land Transport Regulation. Automotive indicated may only be transferred until after five years of legalizing internment and corresponding legal permit importation or purchase, as applicable; if they are transferred in this period will pay the import tax and the new purchaser will pay the tax, internal transfer, pursuant to the provisions of Art. 71 of this Law. "
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
