THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.- That on 5 July 2013, the Arms Trade Treaty of the United Nations was signed.

II.- That the Instrument referred to in the previous consideration has been approved by Executive Agreement No. 1248/2013 of 8 August 2013, and submitted for consideration by this Legislative Assembly for inclusion in the Salvadoran legal system, in force and positive.

III.- That such an instrument contains no provision contrary to the Constitution, and its ratification is appropriate.

TANTO,

in use of the authority established in Art. 131, ordinal 7th of the Constitution in relation to Art. 168, ordinal 4th of the same, and at the initiative of the President of the Republic through the then Deputy Minister of Development Cooperation, in charge of the office.

RIGHT:

Art. 1.- Ratify the Arms Trade Treaty of the United Nations, which consists of a preamble and 28 articles, signed on 5 June 2013; approved by the Executive Body, through Agreement No. 1248/2013 of 8 August 2013.

Art. 2.- This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
