THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.- In accordance with article 131, ordinal 11 of the Constitution, it is the authority of this Legislative Assembly to decree, in general, the benefits and incentives of tax or any kind, for the promotion of cultural, scientific, agricultural, industrial or other activities.

II.- That industry has historically become the engine of the economy of a society that advocates for its development, whose importance lies in the progress of the market economy, since as the main generator of jobs and investment, it fosters the growth of a country and reduces poverty rates.

III.- That the competitiveness of a nation depends on the economic development generated by its industry, therefore, is the sector that generates the most added value in a country, which translates into greater income, and better quality of life for its nationals, conceived as the second of the three basic sectors in which the economic activity of a State is divided.

IV.- That, on 12 June 1958, the Salvadoran Association of Industrialists - ASI was born, aimed at bringing together all manufacturing companies that, living in El Salvador, want to belong to it; currently consolidating itself, as a group that under parameters such as innovation, quality and productivity as the main factors of the country's economic and social development, has guided, supported and permanently strengthened the industrial sector, fostering and protecting the national production.

V.- That by virtue of the above and in order to encourage the industrial sector of El Salvador, which as the main generator of jobs and investment, has fostered the growth of our country, it is appropriate to declare on 12 June of each year, “DIA NACIONAL DE LA INDUSTRIA SALVADOREÑA”.

Art. 1.- On June 12th, every year, “NATIONAL INDUSTRIA OF SALVADOREÑA”, in recognition of its contribution to the economy of El Salvador.

Art. 2.- This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Gazette.
