THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF THE SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.- That Cruz Verde Salvadoreña is a non-profit institution whose objectives are aimed at providing emergency services in its various specialties, when the inhabitants of the Republic need it.

II.- In order to raise funds for the achievement of its objectives, the Mexican Circus “Holiday Circus” will be presented in the country, starting on March 5, this year, for a period of 4 months, in different parts of the country.

III.- That in accordance with the powers conferred upon it by the Constitution of the Republic, and in order to contribute to the fulfilment of its objectives, it is appropriate to exempt from the payment of taxes, which may cause the presentations of the said circus.

TANTO,

in the use of its constitutional powers and at the initiative of the Lorena Guadalupe Peña Mendoza, and of the MPs Guillermo Antonio Gallegos Navarrete and José Francisco Merino López.

RIGHT:

Art. 1.- Exonerate to the Salvadoran Green Cross, the payment of taxes, except the Tax on the Transfer of Furniture Property and the Servicing of Services (VAT), which may cause presentations in the Mexican Circus country “Holiday Circus”, from March 5th this year, for a period of 4 months.

The waiver granted is without prejudice to the monitoring and control to be exercised by the respective tax agencies. In addition, the representatives of Cruz Verde Salvadoreña must submit to this Assembly 30 days after the presentations have been completed a report duly signed and sealed by a responsible auditor, on the income obtained and the distribution thereof.

Art. 2.- This Decree shall enter into force from the day of its publication in the Official Gazette.
