DECREE NO 724

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That in accordance with Article 131, ordinal 22nd of the Constitution of the Republic, it is the faculty of this State Authority to grant to persons or populations, titles, honorary distinctions and compatible gratifications with the form of government established, for relevant services provided to the Fatherland.

II.- That Article 6, literal c) of the Law of Honorific Distances, Gratitude and Titles, establishes that the honorable and distinguished distinctions of Notable and Distinguished or Distinguished, in their order of relevance, may be granted to Salvadoran persons or foreign residents, when the services or contributions that have been provided to the Homeland, are related to the dissemination and exploitation of science, art, culture, education and sport or any other form of altruistic service or collective; in such a way that it represents an undeniable benefit for the Salvadoran State or its

III.-That Don Segundo Alejandro Dagoberto Marroquín Cabrera, born in San Salvador, El Salvador, on June 20, 1937, graduated in Economics and Political Sciences, graduated from the Universidad El Salvador de Buenos Aires, Argentina, With higher studies in the Universities of the Rosary in Argentina, José Simeon Cañas in El Salvador, Harvard in the United States of America, and Bonn in Germany, he is a professional who besides having served his homeland through the performance of different positions in the productive areas of the country, has been highlighted in the art of the composition musical, having dedicated to different Municipalities of our country, diverse melodies of their authorship and that have now acquired fame.

IV.-That for many years, has managed to place in high the name of our country, through its cultural message with the art of musical composition, constituting itself as a faithful exponent of the art and traditions of El Salvador, excelling for musical productions of their authorship, which they have as essential characteristic, that reflect the Salvadoran customs and folklore, being some of his musical productions, Anthem of the Assembly Legislative, Anthem of the Higher School of Economics and Business, March of the Mayor of Metapan, March of the Mayor of Zaragoza, March of the Mayor of Santa Tecla, March of the Mayor of Sonsonate, the boleros of Alexandria, Costa Real, Front to the Sea, Ashes, Past the years and Friend, and within the genre of folklore Cojutepeque, Comasagua, Guanaco, Clarinero, Los Cafetales and Gorrioncito.

V.-That the artist Segundo Alejandro Dagoberto Marroquín Cabrera, has excelled not only in his professional career, but has also been a faithful precursor to the development of the arts in El Savior, who along his path has

empowered and supported by other artists who, like him, have managed to enter the name of our country, What has become the creditor of various national awards.

VI.-That by virtue of the merits mentioned, it is appropriate to grant the honorary distinction of "DISTINGUISHED MUSICAL COMPOSER OF EL SALVADOR", to Don Segundo Alejandro Dagoberto Marroquín Cabrera, in recognition of his artistic career, and support For the development of art and culture in our country.

FOR TANTO,

in use of its Constitutional powers and at the initiative of the Deputies: José Serafin Orantes Rodríguez, Luis Roberto Angulo Samayoa, Reynaldo Antonio López Cardoza and Mario Antonio Ponce Lopez.

DECCRETA:

Art. 1.-To declare Don Segundo Alejandro Dagoberto Marroquín Cabrera, "DISTINGUISHED MUSICAL COMPOSER OF EL SALVADOR", as recognition of his artistic career, and the support provided for the development of art and culture in our country.

Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
