1 DECREE No. 995
THE LEGISLATURE OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, CONSIDERING
I.- by Legislative Decree No. 653, dated December 6, 2001, || | published in the Official Gazette No. 240, Volume No. 353, 19 of that same year, the Organic Law of the National Civil Police, where his creation, organization and powers established was issued.
II.- That the Constitution provides that the National Civil Police will ensure order, security and public tranquility, as well as collaboration with the Attorney General of the Republic

III.- That the working hours established for staff working as a police element, it is not adapted to the situation of violence prevailing in the country, work schedules that do not allow members of the police are of in line with efforts and demands required by the magnitude of the danger

DECREES the following:
ORGANIC LAW REFORM NATIONAL CIVIL POLICE.
Art. 1.- reformed Art 16, as follows:.
"Art. 16. Members of the National Civil Police when the situation so warrants, may be made available full-time, as they can be implemented throughout the national territory, by region, certain departments or municipalities, by time,
functions and how the director General provides. After the situation that motivated him, will continue as the provisions of Art. 84 of the Law on the Police Career. "
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
