1 Decree N ° 1001 the Legislative Assembly of the Republic of EL SALVADOR, considering: I.-that by Legislative Decree No. 733 of date October 22, 2008, published in the Official Journal No. 20, vol. 382, dated 30 January 2009; issued the code of criminal procedure, requiring to be harmonized before the adoption of the "law special Integral for a life free of violence for women" and the "law of equality, equity and eradication of discrimination against women".
II.-that by Legislative Decree No. 520 of date November 25, 2010, published in the official newspaper Nº 2, volume no. 390, on January 4, 2011, issued the "law special Integral for a life free of violence for women".
III.-that by Legislative Decree No. 645 of date March 17, 2011, published in the Official Journal No. 70, volume no. 391 of April 8, 2011, issued the "law of equality, equity and eradication of discrimination against women".
IV.-that the spirit of the code of criminal procedure, be applied as an instrument integrated with legislation approved in favour of the human rights of women, without excluding some of the other.
V that for the above reasons, it is necessary to include the integrity in the criminal procedure code, approved through Decree legislative No. 733, of date October 22, 2008, published in the official newspaper Nº 20, vol. 382, dated 30 January 2009 with the "law special Integral for a life free of violence for women" and the "law of equality Equity and eradication of discrimination against women".

2 DECREES the following: reform to code procedural PENAL Art. 1.-Add an article 16-A in the following manner: "integrality Art. 16-A-the interpretation of this code must be carried out in a comprehensive way and in harmony with the special law for a life free of violence for women, the law of equality, equity and eradication of discrimination against women ", and other principles contained in the conventions, treaties and legislation."
Article 2.-this Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the official journal.
