DECREE N ° 1001

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That by Legislative Decree No. 733 dated October 22, 2008, published in Official Journal No. 20, Volume 382, dated January 30, 2009; issued

the Criminal Procedure Code, which needs to be harmonized before the adoption of the "Comprehensive Special Law for a Free Life of Violence for Women" and the " Law of Equality, Equity and Eradication of Discrimination Against Women. "

II.-That by Legislative Decree No. 520, dated November 25, 2010, published in Official Journal No. 2, Volume 390, of January 4, 2011, is

issued the "Comprehensive Special Law for a Free Life of Violence for Women".

III.-That by Legislative Decree No. 645, dated March 17, 2011, published in Official Journal No. 70, Volume No. 391 of 8 April 2011, the " Law of Equality, Equity and Eradication of Discrimination Against Women. "

IV.-That in the spirit of achieving the Penal Code, it should be applied as an integrated instrument, with the legislation approved in favor of the Human Rights of women, without excluding each other.

V.-That for the reasons This is necessary to include the integrality in the Penal Code, approved by Legislative Decree No. 733, dated 22 of

October 2008, published in the Official Journal No. 20, Tomo 382, dated January 30, 2009 with the the "Comprehensive Special Law for a Free Life of Violence for Women" and the " Law of Equality, Equity and Eradication

of Discrimination Against Women. "

DECRETA the following:

CRIMINAL PROCEDURAL CODE REFORM

Art. 1.-Add an Article 16-A as follows:

" Integrality

Art. 16-A.-The interpretation of this Code must be carried out in a comprehensive manner and in harmony with the Comprehensive Special Law for a Free Life of Violence for Women, the Law of Equality, Equity and Eradication of Discrimination Against Women, and other principles contained in the Conventions,

International Treaties and existing legislation. "

Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal

.
