DECREE NO 24

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That by Legislative Decree No. 605 dated May 6, 1999, published in Official Journal No. 90, Volume N ° 343, 18 of the same month and year, was issued

the Law of the Special Fund of Resources from The Privatisation of ANTEL.

II.-It is necessary to use funds to support the development and strengthening of micro and small enterprises, with the purpose of contributing to the growth of the country's economy and to support public policies aimed at preventing

violence and thereby strengthen social coexistence, for which the relevant reforms to the Law referred to in the previous recital should be introduced.

BY TANTO,

in use of its constitutional powers and Initiative of the President of the Republic, by means

of the Minister of Economy.

DECCRETA, the

REFORMS TO THE LAW OF THE SPECIAL FUND OF RESOURCES COMING FROM THE PRIVATIZATION OF ANTEL

Art. 1.-Reform the literals (d) and e), and add the literal h) to Art. 11, as follows:

" d) Artisan development and Support for Micro and Small Enterprises:

This area aims to contribute to improving living conditions of the artisans

Salvadorans and their families, preserving the cultural heritage of the country embodied in the processes and customs implicit in the artisanal activity, by the consolidation of effective systems of support that lead to the improving the productivity and competitiveness of the production of artisans

Salvadorans, as well as the expansion of local and international markets for such production.

In addition, this area will aim to contribute to the development of the productive capacities

and competitive micro and small enterprise (MYPE), including the enterprises and MYPE focused on cultural economic development, in order to promote their articulation in the dynamics of the territorial and national economy. "

" e) Community Development and Violence Prevention:

Funds for this area aim to equip the most deprived communities in the country

with basic infrastructure, either social or productive, in order to impact positively in improving their quality of life.

The funds may also be allocated for the implementation of programs and actions in the framework of public policies for the prevention of violence. "

"h) Artistic and Cultural Entrepreneurship:

This area aims to develop activities aimed at promoting, promoting, developing, disseminating and valuing artistic and cultural projects."

Art. 2.-Reform the literals a), c), e), f) and add the literal g) to Art. 12, as follows:

"a) Promotion of employment through foreign investment, exports and tourism 10.0%."

"c) Community Development and Violence Prevention 25.0%."

"e) Forest Development and Protection 14.25%."

"f) Craft Development and Micro and Small Business Support 10.0%."

"g) Artistic and Cultural Entrepreneurship 0.75%."

Art. 3.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
