DECREE NO 92
THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,
CONSIDERING:
I.-That in accordance with Article 131, Ordinary 11 ° of the Constitution, it is the faculty of this Legislative Assembly to decree, in a general manner, benefits
and tax incentives or any nature, for the promotion of cultural, scientific, agricultural, industrial or other activities.
II.-That gastronomy is a cultural element that describes the identity of the inhabitants of a region or country, which is generated in the ancestral roots and which must be enhanced, recreated and disseminated in order to safeguard the said
identity, since it acts as a mirror where foreigners recognize the members of a society, but in addition, that society recognizes itself in its own cultural elements, recreating the peoples symbolically
in its flavors, textures and culinary smells.
III.-That gastronomy is highly linked with food and the path of the place where it originates during which several industries and sectors are activated such as
agriculture, transport, food processing companies, food packaging companies, markets, shops and restaurants, generating sources of direct and indirect jobs.
IV.-That gastronomy is an important axis at the tourist level, attractive to foreigners who want to know the country through their flavors, smells and
traditions, existing the Route of Coffee in the Cafetaleros Centres within the territory as Apaneca-Llamatepec; Route of the Jocote, San Lorenzo, Ahuachapan; and Ruta del Marañón, Tecoluca, San Vicente; and the festivals
gastronomy in the Municipalities that are under the program "Pueblos Vivos", as: Juayúa; Festival del Mango in Zacatecoluca; Festival of the Loroco and the Jocote in San Lorenzo, Ahuachapan; Festival of the Panela and the Camote, in
San Lorenzo, San Vicente; and Festival of the Pupusa in Olocuilta, among others.
V.-That despite the galloping transculturization, an effort is being made
to preserve and spread the gastronomic identity through various expressions such as: Day of the Cross, Atoladas, La Calabiuza and the Procession of the Palms, so it is appropriate to declare the thirteen of October of each year,
"National Day of Gastronomy of El Salvador".

DECCRETA:
Art. 1.-Declare the thirteen of October of each year, "National Day of Gastronomy of El Salvador".
Art. 2.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
