DECREE NO 112

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That the first paragraph of Article 1 of the Constitution of the Republic establishes

that: " El Salvador recognizes the human person as the origin and the end of the activity of the State, which is organized for the the achievement of justice, of legal certainty and of the common good ".

II.-That the General Law of Education, approved by Legislative Decree No. 917, dated December 12, 1996, published in Official Journal No. 242, Volume

N ° 333, dated December 21, 1996, states in its article 1 ° that: "Education is a process of permanent, personal, cultural and social formation that is based on an integral conception of the human person, of his

dignity, of his rights and of his duties."

III.-According to official figures from the Ministry of Education, school enrollment for the current year shows a significant decrease in students in

compared to the previous year, presumably the majority as a consequence. of the increasing rates of violence and the migration of families who have been seen in the need to leave their places of residence in search of better

safety conditions for their children.

REFORM OF GENERAL EDUCATION LAW

Art. 1.-Add a second paragraph to Article 64 of the General Education Act as follows:

" The Ministry of Education will regulate and regulate student mobility when, for justified reasons, they need to move from a Educational Centre to another, during the same school year. The execution of this measure will be carried out by the Directors and Directors of each Educational Center, to

request of the interested person, respecting the procedures and presenting the respective documentation ".

Art. 2.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
