DECREE NO 125
THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,
CONSIDERING:
I.-That in accordance with Article 131, Ordinary 11 ° of the Constitution, it is the faculty of this Legislative Assembly to decree, in a general manner, benefits
and tax incentives or any nature, for the promotion of cultural, scientific, agricultural, industrial or other activities.
II.-That by resolution of the United Nations (UN), based on a recommendation of the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the "International Maritime Day" was established in 2005, which was to be commemorated
Last Thursday of the month of September of each year, to highlight the challenges and the importance of the maritime issues in the management of the world economy.
III.-That the "International Maritime Day" is celebrated in many countries of the world, for to stress the importance of the safety and efficiency of international maritime operations, and to prevent pollution caused by ships and discharges of toxic and dangerous substances at sea.
IV.-That the port maritime authority, created in 2002 by the General Maritime Port Law, regulates maritime navigation services,
The safety of
services and the operational security of the Salvadoran ports, safeguard human life at sea and encourage the development of maritime and port activities in El Salvador.V. The "Maritime Day" declaration in El Salvador will allow future generations to reflect on the importance and importance of the activities
related to the oceans; and it would be a palpable demonstration of the importance given in El Salvador to the safety of maritime navigation and the preservation of the oceans.
VI.-That by virtue of the above and in line with what is resolved by the United Nations Organization and with the activities carried out by the
State of El Salvador through the port maritime authority, it is appropriate to declare on the last Thursday of the month of September of each year "Maritime Day of El Salvador".

DECCRETA:
Art. 1.-declare the last Thursday of September of each year, "Maritime Day of El Salvador", in recognition of the importance of ensuring the safety of maritime navigation, of safeguarding human life in the sea and avoiding pollution the oceans.
Art. 2.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
