DECREE NO 180
THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,
CONSIDERING:
I.-That pursuant to Article 131, Ordinary 11 of the Constitution, it is the power of this Legislative Assembly to decree, in a general manner, benefits and incentives
prosecutors or of any nature, for the promotion of cultural, scientific, agricultural, industrial or other activities.
II.-That the Constitution in its article 117, declares as of social interest environmental protection and establishes as the duty of the State, to protect natural resources, as well as diversity and integrity of the environment, to guarantee
sustainable development.
III.-That human well-being is conditioned by the good management and use that is
makes of ecosystems and biodiversity, so it can be stated that if you ensure your conservation and sustainable use you can to significantly improve such human well-being.
IV.-Which in order to motivate and encourage the involvement of the Salvadoran society to create awareness, understanding and appreciation of the importance and benefits of protecting protected natural areas,
its buffer zones and regions influence, it is appropriate to declare on the seventeenth of November of each year, as "Day of the Natural Protected Areas of El Salvador".
FOR TANTO,
in use of its Constitutional powers and at the initiative of the deputies of the 2012-2015 Legislature: Irma Lourdes Palacios Vásquez, Marta Lorena Araujo, and Nery Arely Díaz Aguilar; and the Diputados and the Deputies of the Legislature 2015 -2018: Roger Alberto Blandino Nerio, Raul Omar Cuellar,
Estela Yanet Hernández Rodríguez, José Santos Melara Yanes, and Francisco José Zablah Safie.
DECCRETA:
Art. 1.-Declare the seventeenth of November of each year, "Day of the Natural Protected Areas of El Salvador", as a way to sensitize the citizenry and sectors of the country on the importance of
the Protected Natural Areas that constitute the natural heritage of the Salvadoran State.
Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal
.
