DECREE NO 235

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That Article 131, Ordinal 19 ° of the Constitution, establishes that it is the faculty of the Legislative Assembly, to elect by a nominal and public vote among other

officials, to the Attorney General of the Republic.

II.-That Articles 192 and 177 of the Constitution establish that to be a Prosecutor

General of the Republic requires the same qualities as to be Magistrates of the Chambers of the Second Instance.

III.-That according to Chapter XII of the Rules of Procedure of the Legislative Assembly, dated September 10 In 2015, the beginning of the process for the election of the Attorney General of the Republic was authorized.

IV.-As well, it was reviewed, verified and verified the profile of the lawyer Douglas Archimedes Melendez Ruiz, especially as regards the Noted morality and competence; further noting that it meets the requirements

constitutional; further their academic preparation, suitability, experience and fitness for office.

BY TANTO,

in use of the Constitutional powers, set forth in Articles 131 Ordinary 19 °, 192 and

177 of the Constitution.

DECCRETA:

ARTICLE ONLY.-Choose from the position of ATTORNEY GENERAL OF THE REPUBLIC, Attorney Douglas Archimedes Melendez Ruiz, for the three-year period, which starts this day, and concludes the five

January of the year Two thousand nineteen.

The Attorney General-elect, prior to taking office, gave the protest.

GIVEN IN THE BLUE HALL OF THE LEGISLATIVE PALACE: San Salvador, six days of the month of

January of the year two thousand sixteen.
