DECREE NO 277

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That in accordance with Article 131, Ordinary 22nd of the Constitution of the Republic, it is the faculty of this Governing Body, to grant to persons or

populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratifications, compatible with the form of government established, for relevant services provided to the Homeland.

II.-The Constitution recognizes the University of El Salvador as an institution of higher education, which was founded in the year 1841, so that the next 16 February of this year will commemorate the 175 Anniversary of its

foundation.

III.-That the University of El Salvador has carried out, over the years, an

invaluable work in the professional and academic training of many Salvadorans, instilling them at the same time, civic and moral values that allow them to

IV.-That for the reasons outlined above and as a recognition of the work of the aforementioned Alma Mater, it is appropriate that, in the name of the Salvadoran people, they should be declare to the University of El Salvador "Notable Institution of Education

Superior", for the contributions in the academic and scientific training of Salvadoran professionals.

DECRETA:

Art. 1.-To declare to the University of El Salvador, "NOTABLE INSTITUTION OF EDUCATION

SUPERIOR", for its important contributions in the academic and scientific training of Salvadoran professionals, on the occasion of the 175 Anniversary of its foundation.

Art. 2.-This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
