DECREE NO 318

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That by Legislative Decree No. 955, dated May 11, 1988, published in Official Journal No. 86, Volume No. 299 of May 11, 1988, the

Health Code was issued, which develops the principles Constitutional issues related to Public Health and Social Assistance of the inhabitants of the Republic.

II.-That by Legislative Decree No. 2699, dated September 2, 1958, published in Official Journal No. 168, Volume No. 180, of September 10 of the same year; the Law of the Superior Council of Public Health and of the Boards was issued

Surveillance of the Health Professions, in which the organization and functioning of the Superior Council of Public Health and the legal bodies that will monitor the exercise of the related professionals in an immediate way is regulated

with the The health of the people, as provided for in Article 68 of the Constitution.

DECCRETA, the following:

HEALTH CODE REFORM

Art. 1.-Intercalase following article 17, article 17-A, as follows:

"Tramitator Office of Complaints"

" Art. 17-A.-Create a Complaint Office of Complaints as a dependency of the Superior Council of Public Health, with legal staff and a multidisciplinary team made up of Health Professionals. This Office will correspond:

a) Receive corresponding complaints from patients, family members, representatives legal and health professionals in the public and private sectors including the Institute

El Salvador del Seguro Social; who consider that their rights have been violated in the reception or delivery of health services;

b) Review and to analyse the complaints, and to propose by reasoned opinion, to the respective Board of

Art. 2.-This Decree will enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
