DECREE N ° 368

THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR,

CONSIDERING:

I.-That in accordance with Article 131, Ordinary 22 ° of the Constitution of the Republic, it is the faculty of this State Body, to grant to persons or

populations, titles, honorary distinctions and gratifications, compatible with the form of government established, for relevant services provided to the Homeland.

II.-That article 6, literal c) of the Law of Honorific Distances, Gratitude and Titles, establishes that the honorable and Distinguished or Distinguished distinctions, in their order of relevance, may be awarded to Salvadoran people

or foreign residents, when the services or contributions that have been provided to the Homeland, are related to the dissemination and exploitation of science, art, culture, education and sport or any other another form of service

altruistic or collective; in such a way that it represents an undeniable benefit for the Salvadoran State or its inhabitants.

III.-That Master Feliciano Urquia Hernández, known artistically as

Erasmo Rosales, born on June 9, 1925, in the Municipality of Apastepeque of the Department of St. Vincent, has been one of the most outstanding sculptors of the town, knowledgeable to the perfection of the

imaginary, trade that he has played during the last 60 years, which he learned from the remembered master Francisco Barbara Henriquez, who looked at the interest of this talent, as it worked hard to learn the proper use of the

tools of roughing like azuelas and axes, to get to grips with the gubes and thus begin to sketch what would later be an image of cedar wood.

IV.-That its research spirit, impulse to this recognized artist, to to continue to meet other teachers, so he had to travel to the City of Santo

Sunday and Cojutepeque, to learn from the most prominent imagers of these places, from whom he knew to assimilate all the expertise, that only the experience and research know to give those who strive daily, performing

countless images of wood, ranging from crucifixes, virgins, angels and saints, which are disaggregated throughout the national territory, angering the Catholic churches of the country, contributing to the formation of

outstanding students.

V.- For the above, it is appropriate to grant the Honorific Distinction of

"Distinguished Citizen of El Salvador", to the Master Feliciano Urquia Hernández, known artistically as Erasmus Rosales, in recognition of his invaluable contributions to human knowledge, which has represented a benefit for the Republic of Savior.

DECCRETA:

Art. 1.-Declare the teacher Feliciano Urquia Hernández, known artistically as Erasmus Rosales, "Distinguished Citizen of El Salvador", in recognition of his invaluable contributions to human knowledge, which has represented a benefit for the Republic of El Salvador.

Art. 2. This Decree shall enter into force eight days after its publication in the Official Journal.
