DECREE Nº 664 THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY OF THE REPUBLIC OF EL SALVADOR, WHEREAS:
I.-That by Legislative Decree No. 873, dated October 13, 2011, published in the Official Journal No. 229, Volume No. 393, On December 07, 2011, the Government Ethics Law was issued.
II. That Arts 10 and 11 of the aforementioned Law, establish the creation of the Government Ethics Tribunal, which will be composed of five members, one of them elected by the Legislative Assembly, which will be the President of the Court, In the same way the respective alternate is elected.
III.-That according to Chapter XII of the Rules of Procedure of the Legislative Assembly, dated February 01, this year, the process for the election of the new President of the Government Ethics Tribunal.
IV.-As well, there was an urgent review of the profiles of professionals José Néstor
Castaneda Soto and Juan José Zaldana Linares, especially in regard to the morality and the jurisdiction of the authorities; noting that they comply with the constitutional and legal requirements; special way, their academic preparation, suitability, experience and fitness for the position, as well as, were verified that they do not have any party affiliation, for which it has been proven that they meet the requirements for the performance of the charge and independence.
V.-That in order to comply with the previous Considerations, it is To elect the President and his respective Substitute of the Court of Government Ethics.
BY TANTO, in exercise of its Constitutional powers. DECCRETA: Art. 1.-Elijese as the owner of the Government Ethics Tribunal and, as a consequence, President of that Court, Attorney JOSE NESTOR CASTANEDA SOTO, for the five-year period beginning on this date, and which will conclude on 26 April of the year 2022. Art. 2.-Elijese as a member of the President of the Court of Government Ethics, to the Attorney Juan JOSÉ ZALDANA LINARES, for the period of five years beginning on this date, and ending on April 26 of the year 2022.

Art. 3.- The professionals mentioned, gave in to this Assembly, the protest established by Art. 235 of the Constitution, in order to take possession of their posts. Art. 4.- This Decree shall enter into force from the day of its publication in the Official Journal. GIVEN IN THE BLUE HALL OF THE LEGISLATIVE PALACE: San Salvador, at twenty-seven days of the month of April of the year two thousand seventeen.
