on the agreement on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist
the Republic and the Government of Spain
On 7 December. March 1979 was in Madrid cultural agreement signed
cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government
Spain. Agreement entered into force, pursuant to article 15 on the date
October 8, 1979.
The Czech version of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist
the Republic and the Government of Spain
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of Spain,
Desiring to further develop and strengthen friendly relations between the two
countries and their peoples in the spirit of friendship and mutual cooperation,
Recognizing that the development of relations in the field of culture, art, education, science and
health contributes to a better understanding between peoples, and thus to the
good relations between States,
in accordance with the principles contained in the final act of the Conference on
Security and cooperation in Europe, have agreed as follows:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties shall promote mutual cooperation in the field of culture,
art, education, science, health, film, mass media
resources, social social development, as well as the cooperation between the
Youth and sport.
Article 2
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the development of cultural relations in the form of:
and performing arts) files and artists at the theatre
performances, concerts and other artistic meetings,
(b)) cooperation between museums, art galleries and other organizations in the
the field of culture,
c) placing theatre and musical works in theaters and the other party
concert halls,
d) exhibitions,
e) translation of literary, scientific and professional works of the other party,
f) mutual awareness publications and recordings of their countries, Bayes
and this will promote cooperation in the field of copyright,
g) cooperation between libraries, bibliographic institutions and archives,
h) exchanges of publications, books, microfilms and technical information,
I) co-operation between youth organisations.
Article 3
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the exchange of librarians and archivists to
contribute to a better understanding of library and archive systems of both countries,
as well as a bibliographic Exchange.
Article 4
The Contracting Parties shall develop cooperation in the field of education and
they will in particular:
and promote teaching and dissemination) Czech, Slovak and Spanish
their countries,
(b)) to support the contacts between universities and educational institutes,
(c)) to provide scholarships for study stays at universities,
(d)) to promote exchange of scientific and educational literature, teaching and
illustrative AIDS and provide support in organizing
relevant exhibitions.
Article 5
The parties will aim to provide objective information about
the second country in the textbooks and the curriculum, and this will facilitate the
better mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries.
Article 6
For the purpose of further development of cooperation in the field of teaching and research Contracting
the Parties shall review the question of mutual recognition of university diplomas,
diplomas of other universities and other scientific rank.
If necessary, have concluded a specific agreement about it.
Article 7
The Contracting Parties shall promote mutual cooperation in the field of science and
Exchange of scientific personnel, and in particular on the basis of direct agreement
between the Czechoslovak Academy of Sciences, and the High Council for scientific research.
Article 8
The Contracting Parties shall promote mutual cooperation in the field of
the health sector.
They will assist in particular:

(b) exchange of experts for the purpose) of study and consultation,
(c) direct contacts between institutions) and the organisations of both countries.
Article 9
The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of cinema.
To this end they shall:
and assist the Organization) "film week" of the other country,
(b)) support the exchange of feature and documentary films and newsreels,
(c)) to implement, where appropriate, joint production of feature and
documentary films,
d) promote direct cooperation between film organizations
both parties.
Article 10
For the purpose of better mutual understanding and strengthening of friendly relations
the Contracting Parties shall promote direct cooperation in the field of bulk
the media, in particular:
and facilitating cooperation) news agencies, radio and
Television Organization,
(b) the mutual exchange of representatives) press agencies and radio and
Television Organization,
c) facilitating press materials, radio and television
programs.
Article 11
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the participation of representatives of other Contracting
the parties on scientific conferences, art festivals and other
international events of an artistic nature, held in his country.
The Contracting Parties shall also encourage the exchange of documentation and materials for
These international events.
Article 12
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the development of mutual relations in the field of
physical education and sport. These contacts will be concretized by bilateral
agreements between governing bodies sports and sports between the two countries and will be
aimed at the exchange of experts from the field of physical education and sport and
sporting events in those disciplines in which the sports performance
at approximately the same level.
Article 13
The Contracting Parties shall cooperate in order to prevent
the illicit import, export and the illegal sale of cultural goods.
Article 14
The Contracting Parties shall designate their representatives to the Joint Commission, which is
will meet at regular meetings. Time for a meeting of the Commission will be
agreed upon through diplomatic channels.
The Joint Commission will take decisions concerning the implementation of
the provisions of this agreement and the determination of the conditions of financing and organizing
the exchanges, which are the subject of this agreement, and will draw up detailed
programs to this agreement.
Article 15
This agreement is subject to approval by the national provisions of both
the Contracting Parties and shall enter into force on the date of the exchange of the other notes about this
approval.
Article 16
This agreement shall remain in force for five years from its entry into force, and
It will then be tacitly renewed for a further five years, always, unless one
of the Contracting Parties denounces it in writing at least six months before the expiry of
the current period of validity.
Given in Madrid on June 7. March 1979 in two copies, each in the language
the Czech and Spanish languages, both texts being equally authentic.
