The COMMUNICATION FROM the
the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the exchange of notes dated
27 and 28. September 1990 was in Sliema negotiated agreement between the Government of the Czech and
Slovak Federal Republic and the Government of the Republic of Malta on the abolition of
the visa requirement for short stays. Agreement entered into force on
pursuant to article 8 on 8 July 2006. October 1990.
The Czech text of the Czechoslovak notes and translation Maltese notes shall be published
at the same time.

The Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and based on oral agreements
achieved in Malta between g. de Marco, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister
of Foreign Affairs and of Justice, and Mr. j. Dienstbierem,
Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs has a number of design
the following agreement:
Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Malta and the Government of the Czech and Slovak
Federal Republic on the abolition of the visa requirement for short-
stays:
Article 1
Citizens of Malta who hold valid travel or
diplomatic passports, issued by the competent authorities of their State, they can
Enter the territory of CZECHOSLOVAKIA via the official border crossings without
Visa and stay there for a period not exceeding three months, provided
they do not engage in gainful employment.
Article 2
Citizens of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, who are holders of
a valid ordinary, diplomatic or service passports, issued by the
the competent authorities of their State may enter the territory of Malta through
official border crossings without a visa, and remain there for a period of
not exceeding three months, on condition that they do not operate
gainful employment.
Article 3
The provisions of this Agreement shall not relieve the citizens of each of the two States ' obligations
comply with the laws and regulations of Malta and the Czech and Slovak Federal
States relating to entry and residence.
Article 4
The competent authorities of both States reserve the right to refuse permission to
the entry or residence on the territory of their State parties, which are considered
side.
Article 5
Both States shall transmit to each other through the diplomatic channel or new patterns
the altered travel documents together with information on their use, and
If possible, 60 days prior to their introduction.
Article 6
Each of the two Contracting States may, for reasons of public safety, all right
or health, temporarily suspend the application of this agreement. The other Contracting
the State must be acceptance or withdrawal of any such measure immediately
informed through diplomatic channels.
Article 7
Agreement shall remain in force until either one of both of the Contracting States
through diplomatic channels in writing notify that it wishes to terminate. In such a

This agreement shall enter into force on 8 March. October 1990.
