The communication from the
the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the exchange of notes dated
July 12, 1990 in Reykjavik and 13. July 1990 in Prague was
negotiated agreement between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the
the Government of the Republic of Iceland on the abolition of visa requirements. The agreement
entered into force pursuant to article 7 on the day 15. July 1990.
The Czech text of the Czechoslovak notes and a translation of the note verbale of Iceland shall be published
at the same time.

All Excellence,
I have the honour to inform you that intend to simplify travel between
Iceland and the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic, of the Government of Iceland is
ready to conclude with the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic

The agreement between Iceland and the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic on the

Article 1
Czechoslovak citizens, holders of valid passports, the Czechoslovak

stay in the State of undesirable persons.
Article 5
The authorities of the two States undertake to adopt without delay to its territory
each of its citizen.
Article 6
Any Contracting Party may, for reasons of public order, temporarily suspend
the implementation of the above provisions, in whole or in part, with
the exception of article 5. Such suspension shall be notified immediately to the other
Contracting Party through the diplomatic channel.
Article 7
This agreement shall enter into force on the 15. July 1990. Agreement may be
unless terminated in writing by either party. Denunciation shall take force
one month from the date of its notification.
In the event that the foregoing proposals are acceptable to the Government of the Czech and
Slovak Federal Republic, I have the honour to propose that this letter and
Your Excellency's response was an agreement between the two Governments in this matter.

you have me on behalf of my Government proposed the conclusion of an agreement between the Government of
