on the agreement for scientific and technological cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak

Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of Peru



On 7 December. July 1971 in Lima was signed an agreement on scientific and technological

cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government

The Republic of Peru.



In accordance with article IX of the agreement entered into force on 20 March 2004. July 1973.

The AGREEMENT



on scientific and technological cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist

the Republic and the Government of the Republic of Peru



The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of Peru

Republic, desiring to strengthen even more friendly relations between

the peoples of the two countries and strive to promote socio-economic development of both

countries in the form of scientific and technological cooperation, have agreed as follows:



Article. (I)



The Contracting Parties shall develop scientific and technological cooperation between the peoples of the

the two countries on the basis of equality, respect for sovereignty,

non-intervention in the internal affairs of the two countries and mutual benefit.



Article II



The cooperation will consist of:



1. in the exchange of scientific personnel and professionals for the joint study

options for the implementation of projects of socio-economic development

Scientific and technical nature, carried out, where appropriate, the national

the companies of the Contracting Parties;



2. in the provision of scholarships to a specialised University

postgraduate courses in scientific and technological training;



3. in the establishment of documentation centres of scientific and technological character

and the strengthening of vocational training centres and technical training

existing in the Republic of Peru;



4. in any other forms of scientific and technological cooperation, which

will be mutually agreed upon.



Article. (III)



The Contracting Parties undertake not to disclose without the prior and the mutual

consent to third parties the results of its scientific and technological cooperation and its

joint research carried out under this agreement.



Article IV



For the purpose of implementation of any of the programmes of cooperation that are

listed in this document or that the Contracting Parties on the basis of

the parties agree, each Party shall designate and lays down in particular the additional

arrangements or agreements, all that is needed as regards the nature, time

duration, staffing, financial contributions in freely convertible currencies

convertible currency or other contributions of the relevant Governments and adopted by the Governing

procedures and with regard to the Czechoslovak and Peruvian society, the competent

Article. In



The provisions of this Agreement shall not affect the rights and obligations of the Contracting

Parties arising from other international agreements.



Čl.VI



The Contracting Parties agree to ensure the missions or broadcast professionals to

achievement of the objectives of this agreement, the benefits necessary for the normal exercise of their

function in accordance with the laws in force in the beneficiary country.



Article. (VII)



The Contracting Parties agree to establish a Joint Commission, which shall, in principle,

will meet each year, alternately in respective capitals in

dates to be agreed upon.



The Joint Commission shall determine the order of the projects that will take place, and

will assess the scientific and technological cooperation between the two countries.



Article. (VIII)



The Contracting Parties will provide under the principle of reciprocity:

cooperation established by this agreement from customs fees and other

tax burdens;



(b)) the exemption from income tax of technicians and experts seconded under the

Scientific and technological cooperation in accordance with this agreement;



(c)) the benefits and privileges that provide relevant government experts

international organisations.



Article. (IX)



This agreement shall enter into force on the day of exchange of notes, which confirms its

adoption in accordance with the laws in force in each country, and will be valid for a

3 years, after which it will automatically renew for the period

the next 1 year, unless one of the Contracting Parties denounces it in writing 6

months before the end of the relevant period.



In the event that, after the expiry of this agreement, there were

unfinished projects, the Contracting Parties undertake to complete them while

maintain the provisions of this agreement, unless agreed otherwise.

This agreement shall be signed in Lima on 7 December. July 1971 in two original

copies, both in the language of Spanish.
