on the agreement on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist

the Republic and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic



On 25 April. November 1977 in Vientiane was signed the agreement on cultural

cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government

Lao People's Democratic Republic. Agreement entered into force in accordance with

Article 10 on 25 September 2004. November 1977.



The Czech version of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The agreement



on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist

the Republic and the Government of the Lao People's Democratic Republic



The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Lao People's

Democratic Republic, desiring to expand cultural and scientific

relations between the two countries, develop friendship and strengthen volumes

mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries, have agreed as follows:



Article 1



The Contracting Parties shall strengthen and expand mutually beneficial cultural and

scientific exchanges on the basis of respect for the principles of sovereignty, equality and

non-interference in the internal affairs of the other party, and in accordance with the laws of

of the two countries.



Article 2



The Contracting Parties shall contribute to the development of cooperation in the field of education,

Science, culture and art, literature, and publishing of books, film, print,

radio, television, health, physical education, sport and tourism.

For this purpose, will support the establishment and development of relations between national

authorities and non-governmental organisations active in the scientific and cultural

area.



Article 3



1. The Contracting Parties shall develop cooperation in the field of education. For this

the purpose will be to promote:



and the exchange of information about their) school systems and curriculum;



(b)) the exchange of school textbooks, educational and laboratory equipment;



(c)) the exchange of professors, to vocational training or improvement of their broadcasts to

teaching;



(d)) the mutual granting scholarships to study, as well as the exchange of information on

fields of study offered and the reception conditions of students on

the school.



2. the Contracting Parties shall, on the basis of a special agreement for this

to conclude, recognise evidence of school education and achievements

the obtained scientific ranks.



Article 4



1. the Contracting Parties shall promote the exchange of scientific personnel,

representatives of scientific societies and other experts for the implementation of

scientific research, lectures and to meet with the activities of the scientific

the device, as well as the exchange of publications and other scientific materials

that will have a common interest.



2. The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the participation of experts of the other party

on the national or international scientific conferences and seminars,

that will take place in their territory.



Article 5



Each Contracting Party shall facilitate exploring the cultural heritage and

the current national culture of the people of the other State. To this end, the two

by promoting:

Article 6



The Contracting Parties shall proceed to active cooperation in the field of printing and

radio. To this end, to promote the direct cooperation between their

press agencies and public address systems and mostly organisations. They will be

also carry out the exchange of journalists and press correspondents, as well as

the exchange of information and documentation from the political,

Economic and cultural life of their countries.



Article 7



The Contracting Parties shall provide for cooperation in the areas of health,

in particular:



and the participation of their experts in) the meetings of the health theme;



(b)) in exchange of medical publications and medical supplies;



(c)) in exchange of doctors to a professional improvement or their transmission to the

teaching.



Article 8



The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the development of contacts between the tělovýchovnými and

sports organisations of both countries.



Article 9



For the implementation of this agreement, the Contracting Parties shall periodically draw up

cooperation plans, which will be set out as financial conditions

the implementation of individual actions.



Article 10



The agreement is subject to approval by the constitutional laws of both Contracting Parties,

and shall enter into force on the date of exchange of notes about this approval.



Article 11



This agreement is concluded for a period of five years. Will be tacitly extended always

for a further five-year periods, until one or the other party

a written notice of at least six months before the expiry of the relevant period

its validity.



Given in Vientiane on 25 April. 11.1977 in two copies, each in the language

the Czech, Lao and French languages, Czech and Lao texts are

the same force. In the case of a difference in interpretation of the Czech and the Laotian

text, the French text will be decisive.
