On 11 July. September 1975 in Prague signed the Convention for cooperation in the field
of health between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the
the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic. On the basis of article 13 of the Convention
entered into force on 29 April 2006. April 1976.

CONVENTION
on cooperation in the field of health between the Government of the Czechoslovak
Socialist Republic and the Government of the Syrian Arab Republic
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Syrian Arab
States desiring to deepen the cooperation in the area of health and
to extend and consolidate the friendly relations between the two countries have agreed
as follows:
Article 1
The two parties will encourage the exchange of experience in the
health and medical sciences with the aim of continuously improving the
the State of health of the people of both countries.
Article 2
The two Contracting Parties shall proceed to an exchange of experience gained in the field of
health care techniques. This exchange shall notably cover health
methods such as prevention, hygiene, the fight against epidemics and health education.
Article 3
The two parties will exchange publications and information, medical
movies, the means and methods used in the field of health education, in particular
Audio-Visual method.
Article 4
The two parties will promote and expand cooperation and Exchange
of experience between research institutes, medical colleges, health
schools, or other medical institutions.
Article 5
Relevant organisations in the countries of the two Contracting Parties shall exchange
programs and documentation relating to medical conventions, conferences and
the meeting, in particular those that are international in character and which are
will be held on the territory of one of the Contracting Parties and invite them to a representative of the
of the other party.
Article 6
The two parties will cooperate in the field of professional
training of medical staff, and in particular:
1. To promote the exchange of doctors, laboratory experts and other
health care professionals to enable them to improve their knowledge or
specialise or alternatively, study certain types of diseases, and
provide the necessary scholarships to the realization of this goal.
2. To carry out the exchange of experience, teaching aids and
documentation relating to the medical field.
Article 7
The Contracting Parties shall cooperate in the development of health services in both
countries that will be at the request of the other Contracting Parties experienced
experts for technical training of medical personnel such as doctors,
laboratory workers and others. On the other hand, facilitates the study and
specialization in their turn, appointed by the schools and health
institutions.
Article 8
The relevant organizations and bodies of the two parties, in order to prevent
the spread of infectious diseases, they will periodically exchange information on
epidemiological situation.
Article 9
1. each of the two Contracting Parties will provide students with the other party
medical care on the same material conditions under which this
care provided by its own students.

Article 10
The implementation of this Convention, the Contracting Parties are to negotiate a two-year
Implementation programmes.
Article 11
Expenditure incurred in the implementation of this Convention will be borne by both Contracting
parties under this policy:
1. the exchange of medical literature, teaching and audiovisual media,
movie lists and materials used in medical education, will
perform free of charge.
2. Reimbursement of expenses incurred by the broadcasting of the delegations or on
conferences, congresses and meetings, will be carried out according to the
Implementing programmes on the basis of article 10 of this Convention.
3. expenditure incurred by broadcasting and residence of the physicians and other members of the health
staff in the territory of one Contracting Party, shall be at the expense of the Contracting
the Party on whose application the following persons have been sent.
Article 12
Cost adjustment envisaged in article 11 of this Convention will be conducted

Article 13
This Convention shall enter into force upon an exchange of notes on the ratification or
approval and will be valid for a period of five years. Will always be automatically
extended for a further period of five years, unless one of the two
of the Contracting Parties requests its termination six months before its expiry.
