DECREE



of 15 November 2004. September 2009,



amending Decree No. 450/2004 Coll., on the labelling of nutritional value

food



The Ministry of health shall, pursuant to section 19 para. 1 (b). (d)) of the Act

No. 110/1997 Coll. on foodstuffs and tobacco products and about the change and

certain related laws, as amended by Act No. 308/2000

Coll., Act No. 146/2002 Coll., Act No. 316/2004 Coll. and Act No.

120/2008 Coll.:



Article. (I)



Decree No. 450/2004 Coll., on the labelling of the nutritional value of food, the

be amended as follows:



1. in article 1, paragraph 1, including footnote No 1 is added:



"(1) this Ordinance shall in accordance with the law of the European

Community ^ 1) method of calculation and the nutritional labelling (nutritional) value

food placed into circulation, intended for the final consumer or to

mass caterers.

Commission Directive 2003/120/EC of 5 July 2004. December 2003, amending

Council Directive 90/496/EEC on nutrition labelling for foodstuffs.



Commission Directive 2008/100/EC of 28 June 1999. October 2008 amending

Council Directive 90/496/EEC on nutrition labelling for foodstuffs, as regards

the recommended daily allowance, the conversion factors for energy value and

definition. ".



2. in paragraph 2 of the letter j) is added:



"j) fiber-polysaccharides with three or more monomer units,

that are not digested or absorbed in the small intestine of man,

belonging to groups



1. edible polysaccharides of naturally occurring in received food,



2. edible polysaccharides, which have been obtained from food raw materials

physical, enzymatic or chemical means and which have

a beneficial physiological effect claimed as established generally accepted scientific

knowledge, or



3. edible polysaccharides that have beneficial physiological effect

as established by generally accepted scientific knowledge ".



3. in article 4, paragraph 1 reads:



"(1) the energy value is calculated using the following conversion

the coefficients for 1 g of the substance:



and) carbohydrates, except polyols 17 kJ = 4 kcal



b) polyols 2.4 kcal kJ = 10



c) protein 17 kJ = 4 kcal



d) fats (triglycerides) 37 kJ = 9 kcal



e 29 kJ) alcohol = 7 kcal



f) organic acids 1 kJ = 3 kcal



g) dietary fiber 8 kJ = 2 kcal



h) erythritol 0 kJ = 0 kcal. ".



4. the annex to the Ordinance reads as follows:

Article. (II)



Transitional provision



Foods that do not bear any value in accordance with article 4, paragraph 2. 1 and

Annex No 4 to this Ordinance, may be marketed until 31 December 2004. October

2012.
