The COMMUNICATION FROM the
the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the 29 April. October 1991
the arrangement was signed in Pretoria between the Government of the Czech and Slovak
The Federal Republic and the Government of South Africa on the abolition of visa
requirement for holders of diplomatic and service passports. The arrangement
entered into force pursuant to article 7 (2). 2 on 1 January 2000. December
1991.
The Czech text of the arrangement shall be designated at the same time.
The ARRANGEMENT
between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Government
South Africa on the abolition of visas for holders of
diplomatic and service passports
Due to the fact that the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the
the Government of South Africa (hereinafter referred to as "the Contracting Parties") recognise the
the friendly relations between the two countries and their peoples; and
due to the fact that the abolition of the existing visa requirement for holders of
diplomatic and service passports is considered desirable for the next
the strengthening of cooperation between the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the
Republic of South Africa,
the parties have agreed on the following:
Article 1
Nationals of the Contracting Parties, who are holders of valid
of diplomatic or service passports, can enter the territory of the other
the Contracting Parties and to stay here for three months without a visa.
Article 2
1. the members of the diplomatic, administrative and technical or
Professional staff of the diplomatic mission or consular post of one of the
Contracting Party in the territory of the other Contracting Party, the official representatives of one
of the Contracting Party in the international governmental organizations, having its registered office
on the territory of the other Contracting Party, or the officials of such international
organizations, as well as members of the delegations of one Contracting Party broadcasting
to international negotiations on the territory of the other Contracting Party, if they are
possession of a valid diplomatic or service passport, may reside on
the territory of the other Contracting Party for the duration of their secondment without visas.
2. Same adjustment applies to the members of the family of persons referred to in
paragraph 1, when they are holders of valid diplomatic or service
passports.
Article 3
Persons referred to in article 1 and 2 may exceed the limits of the Contracting Parties
at all border crossings designated for international travel.
Article 4
This agreement is without prejudice to the right of the competent authorities of the Contracting Parties
deny entry or residence to persons whose presence in the territory of the other
the Contracting Parties is undesirable.
Article 5

Article 6

Article 7
1. This agreement is concluded for an indefinite period.
2. This agreement shall enter into force on 1 May 2004. December 1991.
3. Any amendment to this Agreement, on which the two parties
agree, shall be effective exchange of notes.
4. This agreement may be terminated by either party by written
notice given to the other party three months in advance of the diplomatic
