about updating the nomenclature of territorial statistical units (AU)
The Czech Statistical Office pursuant to § 7 para. 2 of Act No. 89/1995 Coll., on
the national statistical service, as amended, communicate with
effect from 1. January 2008 introduction of the updated nomenclature of territorial
statistical units (hereinafter referred to as "the classification CZ-NUTS").
The updated classification CZ-NUTS is issued for statistical purposes.
Its structure, codes and names of territorial units are identical to the wording of the
referred to in the annex to Commission Regulation (EC) No 105/2007 of 1 June 2005. February
2007, amending the annex to the regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council (EC)
No 1059/2003 on the establishment of a common classification of territorial
units for statistics (NUTS).
The updated classification CZ-NUTS includes alphanumeric codes and names
statistical territorial one-tek created on the territory of the Czech Republic
for the purposes of statistical surveys. In the updated classification
CZ-NUTS occurs from 1. January 2008, the following changes occur:
-the NUTS level 4 (districts);
-amended NUTS 3 code for two of the following regions:
-New Vysočina-Flag (instead of the existing code CZ061)
-South Moravian region-new Flag (instead of the existing code CZ062).
Full updated classification CZ-NUTS is listed in the annex to this
the communication. CZ-NUTS will be available in electronic form in
the Information Services Department of the Czech Statistical Office, on the 50th
81, Prague 10 and also will be published (including all related
information) on the website of CSO at www.czso.cz.
European Parliament and Council Regulation (EC) no 1059/2003, shall be binding on the
its entirety and directly applicable in all Member States, including
updates the annexes to the regulations of the Commission. For this reason, will not be more
update of the NUTS classification CZ-published in the statute book.
