The COMMUNICATION FROM the
the Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Federal Ministry of Foreign Affairs declares that on 11 July. November
1991 in Prague was signed the Treaty on friendly relations and cooperation
between the Czech and Slovak Federative Republic of Brazil and the Spanish
Kingdom of the Netherlands.
With the Treaty, expressed its approval of the Federal Assembly of the Czech and Slovak

on the friendly relations and cooperation between the Czech and the Slovak
Federative Republic of Brazil and the Kingdom of Spain

Article 1
Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Kingdom of Spain shall be

Article 3

Article 7

Article 8
The Kingdom of Spain will support the development of close relations between the Czech and
Slovak Federal Republic and the European communities.
The Kingdom will also support the efforts of the Czech and Slovak
Federal Republic on the creation of prerequisites for the full integration of the

Article 9
The Contracting Parties shall as far as possible encourage the development of mutually
beneficial cooperation in economic and financial areas, in particular in the
foreign trade, industry, science, technology and other areas,
that could be of importance for their future, for example. on

legislation and bilateral agreements, especially the agreement on
mutual promotion and protection of investments, signed in Madrid 12. December

Article 10
In order to create favourable conditions for the realization of joint initiatives and
projects, the Contracting Parties shall promote direct relations between the
Czechoslovak and the Spanish companies and new forms of economic
cooperation, in particular in the field of investment and joint ventures, including
participation of entities of third countries.
Special attention will be given to cooperation projects relating to
small and medium-sized enterprises.
Article 11
The Contracting Parties will encourage a wide exchange of economic information, and
accessible to entrepreneurs and experts of the two countries and the development of
cooperation between their business organisations and associations.
Article 12
To facilitate the transition of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic to a market
economy and to promote its economic development, the Contracting

on a bilateral and on a multilateral basis. This cooperation will be

Article 13
The Contracting Parties shall cooperate on a bilateral basis and in

services.

Aware of the importance of environmental protection, the Contracting Parties shall
seek to enhance cooperation in this area on a bilateral and
multilateral basis, in particular at European level.
Article 15
Based on the long-term tradition of cultural relations between their peoples and

joint scientific projects of mutual interest.
The Contracting Parties will permit the establishment of cultural centres, which would be
devoted to the teaching and dissemination of the languages and cultures of their countries. Special assistance

audiovisual technology and computer science.
Article 16
The Contracting Parties shall develop cooperation in the field of health care,
social care, physical training, sports and tourism. Special attention

Article 17
The Contracting Parties shall intensify the cooperation in the framework of international
organisations, especially in Europe.
Article 18
The Contracting Parties shall pay special attention to the deepening of the cooperation
between the parliaments and parliamentarians of both States.

Article 19

Article 20
The provisions of this Treaty shall not affect the rights and obligations arising from the

This agreement is subject to ratification and shall enter into force 30 days after the exchange of
instruments of ratification.

one year before the expiration of the relevant period of validity.
