The COMMUNICATION FROM the
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Ministry of Foreign Affairs says that the exchange of notes of 9 January. September
1998 and 28. May 1999 in Prague was negotiated agreement between the Government of the Czech
Republic and the Austrian Federal Government for a partial amendment of the agreement between the
the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Austrian Federal
the Government on the abolition of the visa requirement of 18 June. January 1990, proclaimed under
No 70/1990 Coll.
The agreement shall enter into force on 1 January 2005. July 1999.
Czech translation of the note verbale of the Austrian and Czech text of the notes shall be published in the Czech
at the same time.

The Austrian Embassy reflected the respect of Ministry of Foreign Affairs
The Czech Republic and has the honor to propose to the Government of the Czech Republic for the purpose of
adapting to the changed conditions of the conclusion of the agreement to change the agreement on
the abolition of the visa requirement. January 1990 in the following wording:
Article I
Article 1 of the agreement shall have the following wording:
"(1) nationals of the Contracting States who are holders of a valid
the passport may enter the jurisdiction of the other Contracting
the State and stay there without a visa for a maximum period of 90 days.
(2) the entitlement referred to in paragraph 1 shall not apply to citizens,
who want to enter the sovereign territory of the other Contracting State for the
the purpose of establishing a working relationship, the exercise of gainful employment, or
stay exceeding 90 days.
(3) the Czech nationals who are in possession of a valid travel
the card, may without a visa through the sovereignty of the territory of the Republic of Austria
in the Czech Republic. Austrian nationals who hold
a valid ETD, can the EU without a visa through
the sovereignty of the territory of the Czech Republic to the Republic of Austria. Length of stay is
in both cases limited to a period of five days. ".
