on the agreement on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist

the Government of the Yemen Arab Republic and the Democratic People's Republic



3 December 2004. June 1975 in Prague, signed the agreement on cultural cooperation

between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of Yemen

people's Democratic Republic. On the basis of article 10 of the agreement

entered into force on 31 December 2004. October 1975.



English translation of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The agreement



on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist

the Government of the Yemen Arab Republic and the Democratic People's Republic



The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of The people's

Democratic Republic, desiring to facilitate and develop cooperation and

exchanges in culture, education, science and health care between the two

States,



convinced that such cooperation will contribute to the strengthening of the mutual

good relations,



have decided to conclude a cultural agreement and to this end have agreed as follows:



Article 1



The two parties will promote the development of cooperation and the exchange of

experience between scientific, cultural, educational and medical

both States and institutions in order to allow mutual visits

University professors and teachers of secondary schools, as well as of Commerce and industry

even members of other institutions.



Article 2



Each Party shall provide scholarships and other benefits to the State

nationals of the other Contracting Party and allow them to study at the universities,

art schools, technical schools and other

institutions.



Article 3



The Contracting Parties shall extend the cultural relations between the two countries,

organize musical and artistic performances, lectures, artistic,

the archaeological and scientific exhibitions, organize mutual visits

cultural, artistic and sporting student delegations. Will also be

to expand cooperation between the scientific and cultural organizations.



Article 4



The two parties will promote mutual visits and friendly

the match between the sports organisations of youth.



Article 5

Article 6



Both Contracting Parties shall facilitate the exchange of books, of cultural,

Each party will allow the publication of translations of important

scientific, cultural and artistic literary works of the authors of the second

the Contracting Parties.



Article 8



The two parties will promote cooperation in the field of printing,

radio and television broadcasting, and will organize the mutual exchange of

representatives of official news agencies.



Article 9



For the implementation of this agreement, the parties will negotiate for a period of two

years of cultural cooperation programmes.



Article 10



This agreement is subject to approval in accordance with the internal laws of the

Parties and shall enter into force on the date on which the Parties notify this approval.



Article 11



This agreement is concluded for a period of five years, and its validity will be

always extended for a further five years if neither of the Contracting

party is over six months before the expiry of the current five-year

period of validity.
