28 June 1999. November 1966 in Prague signed a cultural agreement between the

Desiring to deepen the friendship between the peoples of both countries, to develop

cultural relations and consolidate mutual cooperation between the two countries in the

have decided to conclude this agreement and to this end have designated as their

Article 1

promotion and development of cultural relations between the two countries, mutual awareness

Article 2



The Contracting Parties shall encourage cooperation and the exchange of experience and

information between cultural, educational, scientific, literary and

art institutions and organisations of the two countries.

Each party will provide scholarships to nationals of the other country

in the area of studies, technical specialization, scientific research and training.

groups and workers in the field of culture and art.



Article 5



Each Contracting Party shall promote the marketing of music, theatre and

cinematographic works, broadcast radio and television programmes, the organisation of

lectures, exhibitions, film, music and theatre festivals, and

the issue of the translation of scientific, literary and artistic works of the other country.

The Contracting Parties shall include in their educational curricula of history and geography

accurate and sufficient information about the other country.



Article 7 of the



The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the exchange of scientific, artistic and

educational publications, films, music, records, sheet music material and

works of art to the other country.



Article 8 of the



The Contracting Parties shall promote contacts between athletes of the two countries, in particular

the organisation of matches and competitions and will exchange visits of athletes,

trainers and sports experts.



Article 9



The Contracting Parties shall promote mutual cooperation in the field of

radio, television and film. The relevant institutions and organisations of the two countries

for this purpose, will be able to enter into special agreements among themselves.



Article 10



The two Contracting Parties shall facilitate, within the existing national rules

mutual recognition of academic degrees and scientific degrees, diplomas and
