Annex 1

The technical requirements for the determination of the basic series of engines and

engine

1. Series engines

In a series of engines you can include only the engines of

similar properties in terms of emissions. While the inclusion of the engine to the design

a series of engines, if necessary, shall take into account the interaction of

design parameters of engines to ensure similarity

emission properties of a series of engines.

Series of engines is determined by the design parameters that are

common for the engines included in the series. This is the

the following design parameters:

and) combustion cycle two-stroke or four-stroke,

(b)) the cooling medium (air, water or oil),

(c) an individual cylinder displacement) (ranging from 85% to 100%

the largest engine in the design series engines)

(d)) the way the air intake,

e) fuel type,

(f) the design of the combustion chamber),

g) valves and channels (layout, size and number),

h) fuel system (pump, manifold, injection nozzle,

injection pump, pump distributor, single element

injection unit),

as well) constructional design of the fuel system, and

j) processing exhaust gases (oxidizing catalyst, reducing

three-way catalytic converter, catalytic converter, thermal reactor, particle filter).

1. basic engine

In the determination of the basic engine

and the basic criterion) is the largest fuel delivery per stroke at the

the speed specified for the maximum torque; in the event that this

the criterion they meet two or more engines, then for the option

the basic engine is used as an additional criterion of highest fuel delivery

per stroke at rated speed,

and if need be) to determine the highest level of emissions series

engine test another engine, whose characteristics suggest that

its emissions are highest in the design series engines,

(b)), if necessary, take into account additional design parameters

series engines, which could affect emissions.
