cooperation



On 9 April. November 1976 was in Addis Ababa agreement signed between the Government of

The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and of the interim military Government

Socialist Ethiopia on scientific and technological cooperation. Agreement entered into

into force according to article X on the day 17. May 1977.

The AGREEMENT



between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the interim

the military Government of Socialist Ethiopia, on scientific and technological cooperation



The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the interim military

the Government of Socialist Ethiopia (hereafter referred to as the Contracting Parties),

Desiring to promote the further development of mutual cooperation in science and

in order to strengthen the friendly relations and the promotion of economic relations

between the two countries,



have agreed as follows:



Article. (I)



The two Contracting Parties shall cooperate in the field of science and technology,

taking into account the order of the use of the most recent scientific and

techniques for the economic development of both countries.



Article II



Cooperation between the Contracting Parties, referred to in article I of this agreement,

will include:



and the provision of expert services) consultants, medical personnel and

consultants, as well as equipment and supplies within the framework of this agreement;



(b)) the Organization of theoretical and practical training of State citizens both

the Contracting Parties;



(c)) cooperation in any other form of scientific and technological activities, which will be

mutually agreed upon.



Article. (III)



The scope of and conditions for scientific and technological cooperation, including the amount and the method of

remuneration will be agreed between the relevant, to authorised

Czechoslovak Ethiopian governmental organizations and authorized

organisations.



Article IV



Each party will provide the nationals of the other Contracting

the necessary assistance in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable in each

Article. In



The two Contracting Parties will endeavour to ensure that any experts

the contracting party carrying out its obligations under this agreement in the territory

the other Contracting Parties, benefit from the same treatment is provided

the experts of any third country.



Čl.VI



All persons carrying out their duties on the territory of the other Contracting

the parties under this agreement will be governed by the terms in its activity,

established for the performance of their duties and shall refrain from any interference in the

other matters.



Article. (VII)



Each Contracting Party undertakes that specific knowledge gained in

connection with the implementation of this agreement will not be divulged to a third party

without the prior consent of the other party.



Article. (VIII)



The provisions of this Agreement shall not apply to experts, technicians,

officials and other persons performing their duties on the territory of one of

the Contracting Parties according to individual contracts, involving

the delivery of goods or the provision of services relating to such supplies

of the goods.



Article. (IX)



Both parties will, at the express request of any of them

advise each other on all matters relating to the implementation of this

the agreement.



Article. X



This agreement shall enter into force upon an exchange of notes, confirming that it was

approved by the parties; the agreement will be provisionally applied from the date of

its signature.



This agreement will be valid for a period of five years and thereafter will automatically be

extended by one additional year if one of the parties

notifies the other party three months in advance, that it wishes to deal

exit.



In the event of termination of this agreement the Contracting Parties shall agree, prior to the

the termination of its validity, the termination of projects initiated under

the agreement.



Any additions to this agreement must be made in writing and

shall enter into force after their approval by the two parties.



Article. XI



Agreement on scientific and technological cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak

Republic and the Imperial Ethiopian Government of 11 June 2002. December 1959

ceases to be valid on the date on which this agreement enters into force.



Agreed in Addis Ababa on 9 April. November 1976, in two original

copies in the English language.
