on the agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government
The Portuguese Republic on the protection of data of origin, designation of origin and
their geographical and similar designations
Day 10. January 1986 in Lisbon was the agreement signed between the Government of

The AGREEMENT
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Portuguese
Republic on the protection of data of origin, designation of origin and other
geographical and similar designations
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Portuguese

conscious of the interest to develop and consolidate friendly relations between them and the
extend mutual relations in the field of industrial property,
Desiring to effectively protect against unfair competition to the natural, industrial
and crafts and, in particular, the origin of the designation of origin and other
geographical and similar indications, which shall be reserved to certain products,
have decided to conclude this agreement and to agree on this:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties undertake to take all the measures necessary to ensure that
an effective way to protect:
1. natural, industrial and handicraft products originating in the territory of the other

2. the names, descriptions and illustrations referred to in articles 2, 3 and in article 6 of

Article 2

Article 3

Article 4

Article 5

Article 6

Article 7
Claims for breach of this agreement may be brought in the courts of the Contracting Parties to submit

Article 8
Products or goods, packaging, accounts, bills of lading and other business

consume within one year after the entry into force of this agreement.
Article 9

Article 10

Article 11

The Contracting Parties shall endeavour to settle through diplomatic channels all

Article 14
