on the agreement between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government
Beninese people's Republic on cultural and scientific cooperation
On 23 December 2005. May 1983 was in the Cotonou Agreement signed between the Government of
The Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Beninese people's
Republic on cultural and scientific cooperation. Agreement entered into force
on the basis of its article 11 on 3 June 2006. March 1987.
The Czech version of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The agreement
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Beninese

The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Beninese people's

Desiring to promote and develop relations of cooperation in the field of
culture, science, education, information, health care, youth work and

convinced that this cooperation will contribute to the deepening of friendly
relations between the two States,
they chose to negotiate this agreement and to this end have agreed as follows:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of culture, the arts,
Science, education, mass media, film, travel
Tourism, health care, and among the youth in the field of sport.
Article 2
The Contracting Parties shall encourage cooperation and the exchange of information and
of experience between cultural, artistic, sporting, medical and
educational authorities and institutions in their respective countries, and in particular
and by promoting exchanges and research) of teaching staff,
(b) the organisation of exhibitions)
(c)) the organisation of concerts, theatrical performances, and other artistic and
sports performance,
(d)) by translating and publishing publications, literary and scientific works,
e) in exchange of books and other publications from the field of culture, the arts, travel
Tourism, on youth and sport,
f) the exchange of information about life in the States of the Contracting Parties for the purpose of
the dissemination of objective information in the textbooks and the curriculum, and
audiovisual means,
g) support exchanges of experts from the fields of culture, art, science,
public health, sports and youth,
h) support of filmmaking, exchanges and marketing films.
Article 3
The Contracting Parties will allow for the provision of scholarships to citizens of the other party
by proper and graduate studies at its universities and other
educational establishments and vocational education.
Article 4
The Contracting Parties shall be examined with a view to the negotiation of any agreement question
the equivalence of qualifications, scientific ranks and titles,
obtained in the territory of one or other of the Contracting Parties.
Article 5
The Contracting Parties shall provide, in accordance with the applicable
national provisions, access to their archives, libraries, museums and
art galleries, nationals of the other party.
Article 6
The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the participation of Heads of State of the other Contracting
Parties at gatherings, conferences, festivals and other events with
international participation organized on its territory.
Article 7
The Contracting Parties shall promote the cooperation of their institutions and organizations,
acting on the section of the press, radio, television and film, in particular the education
Professional staff, provision of technical assistance in the field of personnel and
material and the exchange of radio and television programmes,
journalists, technicians and directors.
Article 8
The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of youth and sport,
in particular, the exchange of sports teams, education managers,
the provision of technical assistance in the field of personnel and material equipment.
Article 9
Contracting Parties shall provide, in accordance with the laws of the State to the citizens
the State of the other party, who will be deployed under this agreement,
the necessary conditions to be able to fulfil their tasks.
Nationals of the sending State shall comply with the applicable national
regulations of the receiving State.
Article 10
The Contracting Parties shall, for the purposes of execution of this agreement to negotiate on certain
the period of cooperation programmes, which will include the agreed actions, as well as
and financial conditions for their implementation.
Article 11
This agreement is subject to approval by the competent authorities of each Contracting Party and
shall enter into force on the date of exchange of the instruments of approval.
Article 12
This agreement is concluded for a period of five years and will be tacitly renewed
always for another year. In the case that one of the parties expressed the wish
change it or cancel it, it must notify in writing six months before the date of
input the desired changes or notice of termination comes into effect.
Notwithstanding the termination provisions of this agreement will remain in effect until
the end of all the programmes agreed by the competent authorities of the parties on the basis of
of this agreement.
Done at Cotonou on 23 June. May 1983 in two copies, each in the language
the Czech and French languages, both texts being equally authentic.
