on the agreement on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist
the Republic and the Government of the Republic of Maldives
On 26 April. March 1989 was in the Male cultural cooperation agreement signed
between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of
The Maldives. Agreement entered into force, pursuant to article 11 of the day
the signature. English translation of the agreement shall be published at the same time.

The AGREEMENT
on cultural cooperation between the Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist
the Republic and the Government of the Republic of Maldives
The Government of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic and the Government of the Republic of
The Maldives,
guided by the desire to facilitate and expand their cooperation in the field of
culture, education, science, the arts and health,
convinced that this cooperation will help strengthen effectively the friendly
relations between the peoples of both States,
have agreed as follows:
Article 1
The Contracting Parties shall encourage the development of cooperation in the field of culture,
education, science, health, the media and sport on the
the principles of mutual understanding and friendship, and while respecting the laws of the second
State.
Article 2
The Contracting Parties shall encourage cooperation and the exchange of experience between
cultural, educational, scientific, artistic and social
organisations of both States including scientists, artists, workers in the field
education, culture and social organizations.
Article 3
The Contracting Parties shall promote the marketing of music, theatre,
cinematographic works and exhibitions and publishing of scientific and artistic works, the second
State.
Article 4
The two parties will encourage the exchange of books, of cultural, scientific
and art magazines and movies between libraries and other institutions both
States.
Article 5
The Contracting Parties shall provide to the citizens of the other State scholarships to
study at their schools, scientific and cultural institutions.
Article 6
The Contracting Parties shall examine the question of the recognition of evidence of training and
scientific achievement, and if deemed necessary, shall conclude contracts for the
to this end, a special agreement.
Article 7
The Contracting Parties shall promote cooperation in the field of film, radio,
television and the press.
Article 8
The Contracting Parties shall promote contacts between sports organisations and
athletes of both States and the organisation of sports events.
Article 9
The Contracting Parties shall facilitate the development of cooperation in the field of medicine,
Medical Sciences and health care.
Article 10
To implement this agreement, the Contracting Parties shall agree through diplomatic channels
about the actions that they intend to hold in the future period, or, if
It will be considered as necessary to negotiate on certain time periods

Article 11
This agreement shall enter into force on the date of signature and shall remain in force,
