Requirements for premises and equipment, in terms of their function and

General layout, breeding spaces, spaces for the implementation of the General and

specific experiments, operating facilities, the environment and its requirements

check as regards ventilation and temperature, lighting, noise, alarm

systems

(1) the keeper of experimental animals, a supplier of test animals, and the user

experimental animals shall ensure that the premises comply with the following

requirements and to be carried out the following activities, if it is a

and function and general arrangement), where

1. all installations and equipment must be so designed as to species

experimental animals, that are placed in them, provide an environment

that takes into account their physiological and behavioural needs. In addition, the

must be dealt with and managed so as to ensure, prior to entering

unauthorized persons, persons who have obvious symptoms of the disease

portable on experimental animals, and against the intrusion of other animals or leakage

experimental animals here located,

2. the devices must be put in the active maintenance programme to ensure the

prevent and remedy all the damages to buildings or equipment,

3. the device must be available and facilities to enable the newly placed

the obtained experimental animals in isolation until their health is not detected

status, and assessed and minimized any risk to your device

living the experimental animals,

4. must be available to separate areas for the location of sick or

injured animals

(b) where the premises)

1. the devices must be a regular and efficient cleaning program

space and maintained in satisfactory hygienic standards

2. walls and floors in the premises shall be provided with a particularly durable

the surface, which is not subject to heavy wear of the experimental animals or

wear of the cleaning work. The material must be for experimental animals

harmless and may not hurt. Tools and equipment must be

particularly protected so that experimental animals could not harm or

They injure itself,

3. nesnášenlivé species of experimental animals, such as the predator and its

potential prey, or experimental animals requiring different life

the conditions must not be placed in the same room and in the case of

predator and prey must be at such a distance to each other

seen, felt or heard,

(c)) for the implementation of space the General and specific experiments, where

1. the laboratory shall be provided with facilities for the implementation of the

simple diagnostic tests, post-mortem examinations or for

sampling, which will be subjected to more thorough laboratory elsewhere

in tests. There, where these operations are carried out, must be available

spaces for the implementation of General and specific experiments,

2. must be available one or more properly equipped rooms and

device for postoperative recovery, if it is necessary to perform a surgical

interventions under sterile conditions,

d) operating areas where

1. storage areas must be handled, used and maintained to

ensure the quality of feed and litter. These premises must be within the

options are protected against insects and other pests. Other materials that

could be contaminated or could pose a risk to

experimental animals or employees, shall be stored separately,

2. There must be space for cleaning and washing so large that to them was

can place a device for cleaning and disinfection of used equipment.

The cleaning process must be carried out so as to clean equipment when handling

without coming into contact with the polluted and freshly cleaned equipment so

limits which are not harmful to located the experimental animals,

2. the temperature and relative humidity in the breeding areas must be

adapted to the species of experimental animals and wagons age groups.

The temperature must be measured and logged daily,

3. experimental animals shall not be kept in climatic runs

conditions, which would raise the fear in them,

b) lighting, where

1. in the case that natural daylight does not provide the proper rhythm of the day

and night, this rhythm must be secured with a view to artificial lighting

to satisfy the biological needs of experimental animals and at the same time to ensure

satisfactory working conditions,

2. lighting must meet the needs of the implementation of animal husbandry and

tours of the experimental animals,

3. must be ensured by regular fotoperiodicita and illumination intensity

appropriate for the species of experimental animals,

adapted to the sensitivity of the test animals to light,

c) noise, where

1. noise levels including ultrasound may not have an adverse effect on good

the welfare of experimental animals,

2. the device must have alarm systems that are set to the frequency

outside the zone, on which the experimental animals are sensitive; in doing so, but it must be

audible to the human ear,

3. premises must be where it is necessary in the interests of good

the living conditions of experimental animals, equipped with noise insulation and

sound-absorbing materials

d) alarm systems, where

1. equipment with electrical or mechanical equipment for the control and

the protection of the environment must have a spare system to ensure basic

services and the emergency lighting and the operation of alarm systems themselves,

2. heating and ventilation systems must be equipped with monitoring devices

and alarm devices,

3. clear instructions for emergency situations shall be visibly placed.

For more than 50% of its minimum floor area before adding devices

to modify the environment. When planning experiments must be taken into account the possible

the growth of experimental animals in order to ensure sufficient space for them (as

It is mentioned in detail in tables 1.1 to 1.5) throughout the study.

Indoor enclosed space shall occupy at least 50% of the minimum space

reserved for dogs, which is shown in table 4.1.

The parameters below are based on the requirements of the allocated space for

bígly, but for the giant breeds, such as Saint Bernards or Irish

vlkodavy, spaces must be reserved considerably larger than premises specified

in table 4.1. For other breeds, than are laboratory bíglové, must be

the allocated space, consulted with veterinary staff.

Dogs

Space for each of the dogs placed in pairs or in a group may be in

the course of applied experiments limited to half of the total reserved

space (2 m2 for a dog under 20 kg, 4 m² for a dog over 20 kg), as provided for in the law

or this Ordinance, if this is important for the scientific Department of the animal

purposes. Period during which the space is limited in this way, the dog must not exceed 4

hours without a break.

A nursing female dog and the young must be assigned to the same space as the

by the same weight. Birthing pen has to be designed so that it can

11. fish

11.1 the supply and quality of water

Constantly must be ensured adequate water supply of suitable quality.

Water flow in recirculating systems or filtration in the tanks must

to be sufficient and to ensure compliance with water quality parameters on

acceptable levels. The supply water must be filtered or modified.

so that, where appropriate, substances which are removed for fish

dangerous. Parameters of water quality must be kept within an acceptable

the range, which for a given type of fish in a given stage of development, maintains the normal

activity and physiology. The water flow must be sufficient to ensure that

fish allowed to swim properly and behave as usual. Fish

You must have enough time for acclimatization and adaptation to changes

conditions as to the quality of the water.

11.2 oxygen, nitrogen compounds, pH and salinity

Oxygen concentration must match the needs of each species of fish and

the conditions in which fish are kept. If necessary, must be

ensures additional aeration of the water in the tanks. The concentration of

compounds of nitrogen must be kept at lower levels.

The pH level must be adapted to the individual species of fish and maintained

If possible, stable. Salinity must be adapted to the requirements of the species

the fish and the stage of individuals. Changes of salinity must be carried out gradually.

11.3 Temperature, lighting, noise

The temperature must be maintained within the optimal range for the species of fish and

as far as possible on a stable value. Temperature changes must be carried out

gradually. The fish must be ensured by appropriate fotoperiodicita. The levels of

noise must be kept to a minimum and the equipment causing the noise or

vibration, such as electrical generators or filter systems must

be where appropriate, separated from the tanks in which are kept

the fish.

11.4. Stocking density and diversity of the environment

The stocking density of the fish must be based on the overall needs of the fish when it comes to

environmental conditions, health status and well-being. Must be

ensure a sufficient volume of water to keep the fish could swim in the normal way,

taking into account the size, age, State of health, and how

the feeding of the fish. The environment of the fish must be suitably modified, for example,

shelters must be provided, and substrate on the bottom, except for cases where the of the

their behaviour patterns shows that do not.

11.5. Feeding and handling

The fish must be fed a diet that is suitable for them, in the appropriate

quantities and intervals. Special attention should be paid to the feeding

FRY during each transition from natural food on plastic. Handling

with the fish must be kept to a minimum.
