The Federal Assembly has resolved to this Act:



Part the first



The protection of the emblem and name of the Red Cross



§ 1



(1) the character of the Red Cross on a white field and the words "Red Cross" or

"Geneva Cross" protected by the Geneva Conventions of 12. August 1949,

the protection of victims of war, as amended by the additional protocols to these conventions from

§ 2



(1) a person who unlawfully uses a character or a name referred to in § 1, or

who knowingly assists, saves the competent administrative authority to fine 10

(3) the provisions of paragraph 1 shall not apply where the acts referred to therein

Part two



The Czechoslovak Red Cross



§ 3



(1) the Czechoslovak Red Cross is a company within the meaning of the law on

Association of citizens ^ 2).



(2) the only state recognised by the Red Cross on the territory of the Czech and

Slovak Federal Republic, the Czechoslovak Red Cross is the

§ 4



The Czechoslovak Red Cross has the status and privileges of the national

company in accordance with the Geneva Conventions and, in particular, fulfil the following tasks:

assistance in case of disasters and other emergencies;



(c)) provides health, safety, social and other humanitarian

§ 5



(1) the Czechoslovak Red Cross funds for its activities

of the Geneva Conventions and of the resolutions of the international conferences of the Red

§ 6



(1) the State shall return the Czechoslovak Red Cross assets was

withdrawn in the period from 25. 2.1948 to 31. 12.1989 to the extent referred to in

the annex to this Act.



(2) real property referred to in the annex to this law declares to

the effective date of this Act, under the ownership of the Czechoslovak

the Red Cross.



(3) the evacuation of immovable property referred to in the annex to this Act

closes the Czechoslovak Red Cross with the existing user of real estate,

who is used to provide the services of medical or social

or for education, cultural or educational activity agreement. If there is no

the agreement, the Czechoslovak Red Cross entitled to eviction

real estate listed in the annex to this law that are used above

stated purposes, after five years. The conclusion of the agreement on the use of the apartments and

non-residential premises governed by the provisions of the civil code, the law on the

(4) if there is no agreement on the amount of rent and the conditions of its payment between

the existing user who is used for the purposes referred to in

§ 6 para. 3 of this Act and the Czechoslovak Red Cross, shall decide on the

the amount of the rent, the competent authority of the State administration in accordance with generally accepted

price laws.



§ 7



The Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic may set their

the regulation further conditions for the implementation of this Act.



§ 8



Shall be deleted:



1. Act No. 60/1952 Coll., on the Czech Red Cross, and on the use of

character badge and the name of the Red Cross,



2. Act No. 16/1958 Coll., amending and supplementing Act No. 60/1952

Coll. on the Czechoslovak Red Cross and the use of the emblem, badge, and

the name of the Red Cross,



3. the Ministry of health Decree No. 56/1958 Ú.l., on the exercise of

health care jobs of the Czechoslovak Red Cross



4. the Decree of the Ministry of health and Social Affairs of the United

No. 112/1989 Coll., on the implementation of medical, health

the army and the social tasks of the Czechoslovak Red Cross in the Czech

the Socialist Republic.



§ 9



This Act shall take effect on 1 January 2000. July 1992.
