on cooperation between the Ministry of industry and trade of the Czech Republic and

The Ministry of industry and trade of the Republic of Lithuania



The Ministry of industry and trade of the Czech Republic and the Ministry of industry

and trade of the Republic of Lithuania, hereinafter referred to as the parties, in order to further

the development of economic cooperation, activation of českolitevských production

relations and increase mutual goods turnover, in accordance with the implementation of the agreement

between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of the Republic of Lithuania on trade and

economic relations, and scientific and technological cooperation of 23. September 1993,

agree on the following:



Article 1



The parties consider the most important direction of the common work of drawing up the

proposals on issues of bilateral commercial-economic perspective

cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Lithuania.



For this purpose, at the same time with the drawing up of the programmes, the prospective development

the economies of the two countries will prepare draft guidelines of foreign

business cooperation between the Czech Republic and the Republic of Lithuania according to the

individual sectors and industries and trade.



To achieve these objectives, the parties agree that, in the framework of their

competences they will carry out regular consultations about the course of economic

the reforms carried out in the two States and of changes in the jurisdictions in

the area of the economy that have importance for mutual business and economic

relations and also on the issues of development and the implementation of the individual

programmes and projects, representing mutual interest.



Article 2



The parties, in accordance with the laws in force in the two States, on the basis of

the priorities of development of national economies, will assist the industrial and

business cooperation between the enterprises and firms of their countries, improving the

cooperative relations, the promotion of mutual investment, the creation of joint

enterprises, including enterprises with the participation of third States.



Article 3



The parties will provide each other with assistance in resolving current questions

related to expansion of mutual economic cooperation business.



When drawing up the import and export forecasts for the following year's Party

will exchange proposals on the priority needs of the mutual supply of goods and

the provision of services.



The parties will facilitate the creation of the necessary conditions for the realization of

mutual supply, in particular the priority types of goods, in accordance with the

the laws in force in both States.



The parties will work on proposals for improving the mechanism of clearing and

payment for supply of goods, ensuring the increase of mutual turnover

of the goods.



Article 4



The parties agree to implement, where necessary, a meeting of specialists

and other representatives of both Parties to invite experts of the relevant

ministries, government departments and banks, to discuss the issues of State and perspectives

bilateral economic relations, matters falling within the competence of the parties,

including the priority deliveries, the elaboration of specific programmes and

cooperation projects and also to the proposals for the improvement of the reconciliation

the conditions and forms of economic cooperation and bilateral trade.



Article 5



This Protocol shall enter into force on the date of signature.



This Protocol is concluded for an indefinite period.



However, each of the parties may denounce the Protocol. Force of the Protocol will expire

3 months from the date of delivery of the notice of termination to the other party.



Done in Prague on 21. July 1994 in two original copies,

every in Czech, Lithuanian and Russian languages. In the case of a difference in the

the interpretation is critical texts in Russian language.
