AGREEMENT ON ANNUAL REPORTS ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND FREE TRADE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE REPUBLIC OF COLOMBIA AND CANADA
THE REPUBLIC OF COLOMBIA AND CANADA (hereinafter referred to as the "Parties"):
TAKING INTO ACCOUNT the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Colombia and Canada was signed in Lima on November 21, 2008;
AFFIRMING the importance of respect for democracy and human rights;
NOTING the existence of national agencies whose mandate is to promote and protect human rights within the territory of the Republic of Colombia and Canada;
HAVE AGREED as follows: ARTICLE 1

Annual Reports on Human Rights
1. Each Party shall provide a report to their respective national legislature no later than May 15, following the entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Colombia and Canada year and annually in subsequent years. These reports will address the impact of measures taken under the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Colombia and Canada on Human Rights both in the territories of the Republic of Colombia and Canada.
2. Each Party shall make public its report. ARTICLE 2


Cooperation Mechanism 1. Parties may consult each other to review the implementation of this Agreement.
2. The Parties designate the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Colombia and the Department of Foreign and International Trade Canada Affairs for the implementation of this Agreement on your behalf. ARTICLE 3


Entry into Force Each Party shall notify the other party in writing regarding compliance with national internal procedures required for the entry into force of this Agreement. This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of the second of the notifications mentioned or one in which entry into force of the Free Trade Agreement between the Republic of Colombia and Canada, whichever comes later. ARTICLE 4 Amendments


The Parties may agree in writing to amend this Agreement. Each Party shall give written notice to the other Party regarding compliance with their national internal procedures required for the entry into force of amendments. Amendments shall enter into force 60 days from the date of the second of these notifications. ARTICLE 5


Termination This Agreement shall remain in force unless either party terminates it by written notice to the other party six months in advance.
IN WITNESS FOREGOING the undersigned, being duly authorized, they have signed this Agreement.
