having regard to the text of "The Mutual Recognition Agreement waste and higher education qualifications between the Government of the Republic of Colombia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba" signed in Havana, 4 May 1994.

®CONVENIO MUTUAL RECOGNITION OF STUDIES AND QUALIFICATIONS OF HIGHER EDUCATION BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF COLOMBIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF CUBA
The Government of the Republic of Colombia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba:
Motivated by the desire to develop friendly relations between the peoples of both countries and cooperate in the field of education, science and culture:
agree to sign this agreement of equivalence and mutual recognition of qualifications higher education conferred by Institutes and Centers of Technical education, Technology and University of both countries in the following terms:
ARTICLE 1o. Diplomas awarded a professional title in the Republic of Cuba, upon graduation in universities and higher institutes and polytechnic
Higher Institutes and diplomas conferring a professional qualification in the Republic of Colombia to graduate in
Higher Education institutions are equivalent and will be recognized by both countries. These securities will be entitled to the requirements of domestic laws regulating the practice and allow to enter graduate programs in both countries.
Article 2.
. The titles of Technical and Technologist, granted in the Republic of Colombia, for the Professional Technical Institutions, Schools and Institutions of Higher Education Technology, will be recognized as such by the Republic of Cuba.

ARTICLE 3o. The diploma awarded by the Institutes of Higher Education of the Republic of Cuba conferred the professional title of Doctor and university degree in Medicine awarded in the Republic of Colombia are equivalent and entitle their holders to practice in both countries , subject to compliance with internal requirements determined by the competent bodies. The diplomas referred to in this article grant the right to enter graduate programs in both countries.
ARTICLE 4.
. Professionals in the field of law granted in the Republic of Cuba and a law degree granting universities in the Republic of Colombia, titles required for validation, the holder curse or validate the country-specific subjects, which will be determined by the competent state agency.

The 5th ARTICLE. The degree of Doctor of Science in different areas, awarded by higher education institutions of the Republic of Cuba, are equivalent to the corresponding postgraduate degrees awarded by Institutions of Higher Education in the Republic of Colombia.
ARTICLE 6.
. The scientific degree of Doctor, granted in the Republic of Cuba and the scientific degree of Doctor, granted in the Republic of Colombia, in different areas of knowledge, will be recognized by both countries as equivalent after evaluation of relevant academic aspects and compliance with the legislation in force within each State.

Article 7. Degrees awarded in higher education institutions in both countries in Fine Arts programs will be recognized as equivalent and be entitled to practice in their respective artistic branches.
ARTICLE 8.
. The titles that correspond to different academic programs listed in this Convention may be recognized with the observations of the requirements of current legislation of each State.

Article 9. The Contracting Parties undertake to provide each other information on the educational system and the changes that occur especially regarding the issue of academic degrees at senior level in both countries. They also established a Technical Committee to be responsible for determining equivalencies, which involve the application of this Convention.


Article 10. The Contracting Parties shall take appropriate measures to ensure compliance with this Convention by the competent state bodies.

Article 11. This Convention shall be subject to approval by the competent authorities of each country and shall enter into force on the date on which the parties to communicate through diplomatic channels to report that they have met the requirements expressed by the parties.

Article 12. This agreement will last five years and may be terminated by either of the contracting parties, by written notice through diplomatic channels, in which case the denunciation shall take effect six months after the respective notification notification. I

ARTICLE 1o. To approve the "Agreement on mutual recognition of studies and qualifications in higher between the Government of the Republic of Colombia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba Education" signed in Havana on May 4 1994.
ARTICLE 2o. In accordance with the provisions of article 1. 7a Act. 1994, the "Agreement on mutual recognition of studies and qualifications in higher between the Government of the Republic of Colombia and the Government of the Republic of Cuba Education" signed in Havana on May 4, 1994, that Article 1o. this law passed, it will force the country from the date the international link is perfect therefrom.
ARTICLE 3o. This law applies from the date of publication.
