For which the National Day of the People of the Third Age and of the Pensioner is established

COLOMBIA CONGRESS

DECRETA:

ARTICLE 1o. Establish the National Day of the People of the Third Age and of the Pensioning, which will be celebrated on the last Sunday of August of each year.

PARAGRAFO. The governors and mayors, within their respective jurisdictions, will adopt appropriate administrative measures, for the celebration of the National Day of the Elderly and the Pensioning of the importance and dignity that the pensioner and the people of the third age deserve.

ARTICLE 2o. The National Government, departmental, municipal, district, and other state institutions will honor the seniors and pensioners who have most distinguished themselves. to develop activities in favor of its affiliates in the field of health, housing, recreation and in general programs that benefit this sector.

ARTICLE 3o. The National Government shall regulate this Law in accordance with the general provisions laid down in it and the complementary provisions that have been issued.

ARTICLE 4. This Law governs from the date of its enactment.
