Through which life and work of Dr. Alberto Pumarejo Vengoechea exalts, distinguished public and exalted man server of the Republic of Colombia and other provisions.
THE CONGRESS OF COLOMBIA DECREES:
ARTICLE 1o. To mark the centenary of the birth of Dr. Alberto Pumarejo Vengoechea, the Colombian nation exalts his memory and orders the construction of a monument in the city of Barranquilla, his homeland and main stage of their imple-tory civic, that symbolizes and perpetuates the virtues and ideals that drove his permanent service to Colombia, from the high positions he held in which gave luster to the Atlantic Coast.
. The Government of Colombia, through the Ministry of National Defense, provide for the construction of the monument that speaks the first article of this Law, consisting of a pedreste bronze, which will be erected at the Civic Center in the city of Barranquilla.
ARTICLE 3. On the pedestal of the statue, the inscription will be placed. "The Nation and the Congress of Colombia to the memory of Alberto Pumarejo Vengoechea" May 2, 1893 - August 14, 1970 "
ARTICLE 4. the Ministry of Communications will issue a postage stamp as a tribute to this illustrious Colombian, containing motifs to their civic deeds for the benefit of Barranquilla, his hometown.
the 5th ITEM. Circunvalar Avenue of Barranquilla communicates the banks of the Magdalena River with the eastern trunk road will be named Avenida Alberto Pumarejo Vengoechea.
ARTICLE 6o. An oil portrait of Ex-appointed President of the Republic of Colombia and Former Minister of National defense, Dr. Alberto Pumarejo Vengoechea, will be placed in the Hall of Sessions of the Second Committee of the Senate of the Republic, corporation where he was a prominent member.
ARTICLE 7. Revístese the national government extraordinary powers by within two years from the enactment of this Act, to indicate in the national budget, corresponding to the execution of the same items.
Article 8. This Law governs from the date of its enactment and repeal all provisions that are contrary.
