The Board of Government of the Republic of Chile has given its approval to the following Bill Article 1.-The following amendments to Decree Law No 3,607 of 1981 have been introduced: 1.-Reposition Article 5, by the following: " Article 5 °.-Private vigilantes shall have the quality of workers dependent on the entity in which they provide their services and shall be governed by the Labour Code, whichever is the legal nature of the body to be contracted. However, the duration of the ordinary working day shall not exceed 40 hours per week. The employer must take out life insurance for the benefit of each of its private guards, in the form laid down in the Regulation. ', and 2.-Replace the final point of Article 5 (a) by the following: " develop functions of nochero, doorman, rondin or others of similar character, they will not be able, in any case, to carry firearms in their performance, being able to be hired directly by the individuals or through the companies to which the First point of this article. Where they are employed by the latter undertakings, the duration of their ordinary working day shall not exceed 48 hours per week.
