"Article 1.-replaced the article 9º of the Decree Law Nº 2,460, 1979, by the following:"article 9.-the upper head of the investigative police of Chile will correspond to an official who, with the title of Director-General, exercises the management and administration of the institution. " This position will be the exclusive confidence of the President of the Republic for all legal purposes and will be appointed by it from among the eight official police of greater antiquity, with degree of prefect General or prefect Inspector.
The person who is appointed on the post of Director-General shall provide a declaration sworn heritage before a notary of his home, within a period of thirty days since he had taken office and within the thirty days following the date of cessation in the same.
The Director General may only play the charge for a maximum period of six consecutive years.
In case of absence, impediment or temporary disability, the Director will be subrogated by the oldest General Officer. "."
