LAW NO. 20.003 AMENDS ARTICLE 3 OF LAW NO. 18,340, WHICH FIXES THE CONSULAR TARIFF OF CHILE Having present that the National Congress has given its approval to the following Bill: " Single article.-Enter into law No. 18.340, which sets the Chilean Consular Tariff, in the numeral 3 of its article 3, the following modifications: 1. Intercalase, following the expression "identity card,", the word "passport" followed by a comma (,). 2. In the following words, add the following points: " The sums to be charged by the identity card and the ordinary passport granted by the Civil Registry and Identification Service through the respective consulate, correspond to the prices set out in the relevant decree, published in the Official Journal, which annually sets the value of the actions carried out by the aforementioned Service. These prices will be charged by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the United States of America, considering the due ones to cover possible currency fluctuations. The Secretariat of State may also charge an additional value, derived from the administrative costs involved in the service provided. This amount will be paid to your budget and will be set annually by decree of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, duly endorsed by the Budget Directorate of the Ministry of Finance, according to the variation of the conditions that motivate. The sums charged for the identity card and the ordinary passport shall be transferred, through an expedited and secure means, by the respective consulate to the said ministry, in order for the latter to make them arrive, in his equivalent in national currency, to the Civil Registry and Identification Service, in order to make payment of the value of the documents. In the event that the applicant requires the mentioned documents urgently, the cost involved in sending them from the indicated Secretariat of State to the corresponding consulate will be the responsibility of the person concerned. The intermediary between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Civil Registry and Identification Service, for the granting of the documents mentioned above, shall be governed by an agreement concluded between the two institutions.
