LAW NO. 20,181 AUTHORIZES ERECTING A MONUMENT IN MEMORY OF DON MIGUEL KAST RIST Having present that the H. National Congress has given its approval to the following bill originating in a motion of the Honorable Senators Mrs. Evelyn Matthei Fornet and Messrs José Antonio Gómez Urrutia, Carlos Ignacio Kuschel Silva, Pablo Longueira Montes and Adolfo Zaldivar Larrain. Bill: Article 1.-Authorizase erect a monument, in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, in memory of Don Miguel Kast Rist. Article 2.-The works will be financed by means of funds, donations and other private contributions. Article 3.-Crease, in the Metropolitan Region of Santiago, a fund destined to receive the erogations, donations and other contributions mentioned in the previous article. Article 4 °.-Crease, in the Metropolitan Region of |! | Santiago, a special commission, composed of members |! |ad honorem, charged with executing the objectives of this |! |law, which will be constituted by:-A Senator elected by the majority of the Sitting senators. -a Member of Parliament elected by the majority of Members of Parliament. -A representative of the Kast Family. -A representative of the Miguel Kast Foundation. -A representative of the Council of National Monuments. -A representative of the College of Architects of Chile. The commission will elect a president from among its |! |members. This will work in a dependency on the |! | Miguel Kast Foundation in the Metropolitan Region of |! | Santiago, and the quorum to sesionate and adopt agreements |! |will be that of the majority of its members. Article 5.-The commission will have the following functions: a) Determine the location of the monument, in coordination with the respective Municipality and the Council of National Monuments, and arrange and supervise its construction, prior to the Article 18 of Law No 17.288 on National Monuments; (b) Call for the award of construction by public tender; (c) to administer the fund set up by Article 3; and (d) to open a special checking account to manage the Referred to. Article 6.-If the monument has been completed in excess of the relocations received, they shall be intended for the purpose of the commission to determine.
