DECREE of 20 MAY 2002 Establishes the Watershed Committee of the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí, located in the States of Minas Gerais and São Paulo, and other matters.
The PRESIDENT of the SUPREME COURT, in the exercise of the Office of the President of the Republic, using the allocation that gives the art. 84, section IV, of the Constitution, and in view of the provisions in laws Nos 9433, of 8 January 1997, 9984, and July 17, 2000 D E C R E T a: Art. first Is the Watershed Committee of the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí, collegial body, with regulatory, deliberative and advisory assignments under jurisdiction of their respective catchment areas, linked to the national water resources Council, pursuant to resolution No. 5, 10 April 2000.
Sole paragraph. The area of the watershed Committee of the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí is located in the States of Minas Gerais and Sao Paulo, is defined by geographical boundaries of the Piracicaba river basin, of sphere of Union and Capivari and Jundiaí rivers, domain of the State of São Paulo, bounded by the drainage areas with their exutórios , 1 scale located: 1,000,000, 48° 20 ' coordinates, longitude West, and 22° 37 ' South latitude, at 47° 46 ' West longitude and 22° 59 ' South latitude and 47° 18 ' coordinates, longitude West, and 23° 14 ' South latitude, respectively.
Art. 2nd the Watershed Committee of the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí Rivers will be composed of representatives: of the Union;
I-the States of Minas Gerais and São Paulo;
II-the municipalities located, in whole or in part, in its area of operation;
V-the users of the waters of its area of operation; and V-of the water resources civil entities with proven performance in the basins.
(1) the number of representatives, holders and alternates, each sector mentioned in this article, as well as the criteria for their selection and appointment, shall be fixed in the rules of procedure of the Committee, limited to representation of the executive powers of the Union, the States and the municipalities to half of the total members.
(2) the process of choosing the representatives of the Committee will be public, with wide prior disclosure and.
Art. 3 operation of the Watershed Committee of the Piracicaba, Capivari and Jundiaí Rivers will be defined by its rules of procedure, in accordance with the precepts contained in law No. 9433, of 8 January 1997, and resolution No. 5, 2000.
Sole paragraph. The rules of procedure of the Committee shall be approved by its members and published in the Official Gazette.
Art. fourth meetings of the Committee shall be public, giving to its convening broad dissemination.
Art. 5 this Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.
