DECREE OF January 15, 2002.

Declared of social interest, for purposes of agrarian reform, rural real estate named " Fazenda Caracol I ", situated in the Municipality of Cachoeirinha, State of the Tocantins, and gives other arrangements.

THE VICE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the exercise of the office of President of the Republic, using the assignments that confer upon him the arts. 84, inciso IV, and 184 of the Constitution, and in the terms of the arts. 2^o of the Supplemental Act n^o 76, of July 6, 1993, 18 and 20 of the Law n^o 4,504, of November 30, 1964, and 2^o of the Act n^o 8,629, of February 25, 1993,

DECRETA:

Art. 1^o It is declared of social interest, for purposes of agrarian reform, in the terms of the arts. 18, letters "a", "b", "c" and "d", and 20, inciso VI, of the Law n^o 4,504, of November 30, 1964, and 2^o of the Law n^o 8,629, of February 25, 1993, the rural real estate named "Fazenda Caracol I", with area of two thousand, nineties and forty-four hectares, seventy-nine airs and thirty-seven centiars, situated in the Municipality of Cachoeirinha, object of the Registry n^o R-16-166, fls. 166, Book 2, of the Estate Registration Office, Comarch of Tocantinopolis, State of the Tocantins.

Art. 2^o Excludes from the effects of this Decree the soothing, the machines and the agricultural implements, as well as the existing benfeits in the real estate referred to in art. 1^o and belonging to those who will be benefited from their targeting.

Art. 3^o The National Institute of Colonization and Agrarian Reform-INCRA is authorized to promote the disappropriation of rural real estate of which it treats this Decree, in the form provided for in the Act Supplementary n^o 76, of July 6, 1993, and to keep the area of Legal Reserve provided for in Law n^o 4,771, of September 15, 1965, preferentially in single gleba, so as to reconciling the settlement with the preservation of the environment.

Art. 4^o This Decree enters into force on the date of its publication.
