DECREE NO. 3,426, OF April 20, 2000.

Disposes on the implementation of the Sixth Additional Protocol (prolongation of preferential treatments with quotas for shirts) to the Agreement of Economic Complementation No. 36, between the Governments of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, as States Parties to MERCOSUR, and the Government of the Republic of Bolivia, 30 of December 1999.

THE PRESIDENT OF THE REPUBLIC, in the use of the attribution that confers it on art. 84, inciso IV, of the Constitution,

CONSIDERING that the Treaty of Montevideo of 1980, which created the Latin American Integration Association (ALADI), firmed up by Brazil on August 12, 1980 and approved by the National Congress, by the Legislative Decree No. 66 of November 16, 1981, provides for the modality of Economic Supplementation Agreement;

CONSIDERING that the Plenipotentiaries of the Federative Republic of Brazil, of the Argentine Republic, of the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, as States Parties to the Southern Common Market (MERCOSUR), and the Republic of Bolivia, based on the 1980 Treaty of Montevideo, signed on December 30, 1999, in Montevideo, the Sixth Additional Protocol (prolongation of preferable treatments with quotas for shirts) to the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 36, between the Governments of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Paraguay and the Republic Eastern Uruguay, as States Parties to the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR), and the Government of the Republic of Bolivia;

Decenta:

Art. 1º The Sixth Additional Protocol (extension of preferential treatments with quotas for jerseys) to the Economic Supplementation Agreement No. 36, between the Governments of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Argentine Republic, the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, as States Parties to the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR) and the Government of the Republic of Bolivia, apensed by copy to the present Decree, shall be executed and complied with as fully as therein.

Art. 2º This Decree shall enter into force on the date of its publication.

SUPPLEMENTATION AGREEMENT ECONOMIC NO. 36 CONCLUDED BETWEEN THE STATES PARTIES OF MERCOSUR AND THE REPUBLIC OF BOLIVIA

Sixth Additional Protocol

The Plenipotentiaries of the Argentine Republic, of the Federative Republic of Brazil, the Republic of Paraguay and the Eastern Republic of Uruguay, in their condition of States Parties of the Common Market of the South (MERCOSUR), on the one hand, and of the Republic of Bolivia, on the other, accredited by their respective Governments second powers that have been bestowed in good and due form, deposited opportunely in the General Secretariat of the Association.

SUITS IN:

Article 1º-extending, since 1º from January 2000 to March 31, 2000, the preferential treatments with quota set out in Annex 2 of the ACE 36 for items 6205.20.00 and 6205.30.00.

Article 2º-The present Protocol will be vigorated from the date on that all the signatories have complied with the internal procedures required by their respective legislations for their effective placement in force throughout the national territory.

The General Secretariat of the Association will be depositary of this Protocol, of which it will send duly authenticated copies to the signatory Governments.

IN FÉ THAN, THE RESPECTIVE PLENIPOTENTIARIES subscribe to this Protocol in the city of Montevideo, at the thirty days of the month December one thousand nine hundred and ninety nine, in an original in the Portuguese and Spanish languages, being both texts being equally valid.
