I get to know that the Federal Senate has approved, and I, Renan Calheiros, President, in the terms of the art. 48, inciso XXVIII, of the Internal Rules, promulgated the following

R E S O L U Ç Ã ° 43, DE 2006

Authorizes to Petrobrás Transport S.A. (Transpetro) to raise, temporarily, its borrowing limit, by up to R$ 5,600,000,000.00 (five billion and six hundred million reais), to hire credit operation with resources from the Merchant Marine Fund (FMM), through its financial agents

The Federal Senate resolves:

Art. 1º It's the Petrobrás Transport S.A. (Transpetro) allowed to elevate, temporarily and in exceptional character, its borrowing limit, for the contracting of credit operation worth up to R$ 5,600,000,000.00 (five billion and six hundred million reais), with resources of the Merchant Navy Fund (FMM), through its financial agents.

Single paragraph. The resources arising from the credit operation referred to in the caput will be used to finance the implementation of strategic program of Petrobrás Transport S.A. (Transpetro), intended for the renovation and expansion of its fleet of ships.

Art. 2º A credit operation referred to in the art. 1º will be carried out with the following characteristics and conditions:

I-intended value: up to R$ 5,600,000,000.00 (five billion and six hundred million reais);

II-deficiency: up to 4 (four) years;

III-amortization: in up to 20 (twenty) years;

IV-rate-rate: variable between 2.5% a.a. (two integers and five tenths per cent per year) and 6.0% a.a. (six per cent per year).

Art. 3º The permission granted by this Resolution should be exercised within 270 (two hundred and seventy) days, to be counted from its publication.

Art. 4º This Resolution goes into effect on the date of its publication.
